Evening all. Picked my newly converted cup up on Friday after my mate finished fitting ED kit along with a decaf and a few other bits. Have got the mapping booked for two weeks time. As advices in sticking some miles on the car to check for any leaks etc….. While driving it on Saturday there was...
Has anyone used or has one of these generic diagnostic code readers that are any good? Would be easier to do bits at home rather than having to take to my mate and get him to do it.
Cheers all
In the final stages of the turbo conversion being finished. Are the standard 172 cup brakes good enough for track days or is it worth converting to the 197 brembos while I’m shovelling money into the car. Cars currently brembo discs with PBS track pads.
I’ve got a set of AD08RS fitted to the car in 205 50 15 flavour. How would these fair as a wet track tyres, seem to have plenty of grooves for moving water. Would like to get a set of AR1’s fitted to my other wheels for dry tyres.
Before I buy the kit those of you that have turbo clios do you manage to track the cars with out the constant need to come in to either fix it or let it cool down after 3-4 laps? I’ve had a good search through the forum and there are/have been lots of turbo cars but after reading pages of build...
Just looking at cages for my Clio. On the picture for the R017 it shows plates for the underside of the main hoop. Does this mean it’s now optioned as a fully bolt in cage?
After recommendations for a leather wheel to fit to my cup made from leather. I would get the Sabelt one in suede but I get really sweaty hands so I’d ruin it in no time.
I’d like to put a ED turbo kit on the car over winter. Those of you who have turbo cars how do you manage the heat on track days? The cars just a fun weekend thing for me but would like to try and not kill it on a track day.
Afternoon all,
I’ve got a rebuilt gearbox with a diff being fitted soon. Had planned on fitting a lightweight flywheel at the same time. Plans have changed a little and now planning on fitting an ED turbo kit over the winter. Would I be better off keeping the standard flywheel for the turbo...
20 years, or near enough I bought my first Clio sport, a silver phase 1, W744WTR. I had this for 2 years and loved every minute of it. The poor thing put up with all the abuse I threw at it and never gave me any grief. I sold it when I needed a lot of money spending on it, and have always missed...
Evening all. Does anyone on here do trips up and down the country who could pickup a gearbox from NorthLoop in Lichfield and bring it down to Haywards Heath in Sussex. Would pay whatever is needed would just rather someone picked it up rather than a courier. Failing that does anyone have any...
Afternoon all.
Has anyone fitted this? Just wondering how hard the job is, also did it make any difference to keeping the fluid cooler? Did a track day at brands and kept spitting fluid out. Have seen that redline do a power steering fluid with a higher temp rating so might try that.
Evening all. My cup which has 105k miles has a very sloppy gear change. I’ve fitted the brass bushes, is there anything else I can change to tighten it all up again?
Cheers
Evening all. Planning on ordering some BC DS over the next week. Those of you who do the odd track day have you gone 7 or 8 for your front springs? Also while I’m at it would a PMS arb compliment the coilovers?
Just thought I’d have a go as it worked on my discovery. If you go to tool station or screwfix and get a tub of big wipes scrub and clean with a bit of applied elbow grease it takes off whatever the rubber coating is. Takes a few minutes but gets rid of the sticker feeling.
Morning all. Working my way through bits that need doing on my new to me Clio cup. Being 24 years old I’m thinking a lot of the bushes will need replacing. Things like the anti roll bar and rear beam is there any benefit to using powerflex over standard or just stick standard mounts.
Cheers all
The exhaust on my new to me cup is falling to pieces. Would like a stainless replacement. Is the PMS exhaust much louder than standard, would be stealth back box with two boxes? Cheers all
My new to me Clio 172 cup has the engine light on. When I picked it up it sounded like it’s running on 3 cylinder. Changed the plugs, leads, and coil pack in the hope this would cure the problem but it hasn’t. Light is on solidly for a few minutes, then will flash for 15-20 seconds and go back...
So after a near enough 20 year break I’m looking for another Clio as fun thing for the odd track day and some spirted weekend driving. Back in 2005 I bought my first Clio, a silver PH1 reg W744WTR. It’s was the long term test car for evo before I got it. I sold this after 2 years and bought a...
Whats the best stuff for removing all the scratches from my car. None of them are major just there are quite alot of them.
Do i go down the T cut route or is there something better?
Can anyone recommend a good wax/polish for the car?
Cheers All

Picked it up yesterday, its a black 182 with 55,000 miles on the clock. Took me ages to find someone who would take my Volvo S70 in part exchange but i did it and after parting with £4000 its now mine.
Only thing i've found i don't like with it is the car being black it shows up all the stone...
