I said good power band, not just power
its not 5 year old technology as commen rail is just as old
VAG patented there technology, hence why its not used on other cars
Because they prefer there technology
yes, almost identicle engine
27 MPG is not right, even on a race circuit i struggle...
Re: Clutch, waht clutch?!
stock is £85 or so, GSF etc. will be cheaper though, yours isn't gone, my girlfriend will post you in the other thread cause she is sitting on my knee typing
This is your problem, you need to use the car more and break harder. Modern car breaks need to be use otherwise they pit and rust, leaving it for a week isn't good
Re: Clutch, waht clutch?!
Stock clutch is the same as group N.
Just stick with stock its more than enough will handle way more power than you'll tune your engine to.
Legally so long as its servicing usede correct Renault parts and the garage is VAT registered then take it anywahere only thing to remember is that if something isn't checked by the garage which it should be as part of the sertvice and it fails Renault won't pay out since its a job that...
Nope its a garage specialility no official links Renault/Willaims tie up ended years ago.
Even if there were it wouldn't be a 1.4 it would be a version of the 197 instead.
I don't see what your problem is? and why its so difficult?
Just ensure the belt goes the ring way round the bits?
I've attached a phot you'df need to use a Cup style thingie on the alternator to allow you to tension the belt.
You could leave the air con pump on but err its extra weight...
Rear pads are only 6mm when new so what do they mean by low?
Scored sisks could be grit etc on the disks depending how bad it is. Also maybe the fact your not suing them there allowed to rudt etc the CUps in particualr need a bit of hammering on the rears to stop them rustsing etc as they don't...
Yep if the drivers arn't changing up at the right point and in the VAGs' they always change up early and the Fords arn't much better due to the way the owner feels thre at the optimum power and changing up way to early.
WHy arn't they well they don't need to market doesn't demand it. No other...
Does anyone have any recomendations for where to get them from as whilst playing lemmings all day in work is great I'd like a bit of a change and since its got a gig of memory there no need to not install games on it.
Thanks.
There great cars there 15 years or so old though so parts wear and being as the cars are so checp servicing/refreshiong of the bits is rarly done. Handle great great fun cars though.
As for tunning stick a 2.0 bottom end or a Williams engine in before bothering tunning much better base unit and...

Thats all I'd ever use.
You have to remember Reault spend a fortune getting the stock setup and dampers sorted way more than most companies. Stock dampers would costs a fortune if they weren't a normal part realy.
They'll just need a cleaning then. Just take the drum off clean up and put it back together should use a new 30mm nut realy but if you don't want to spend the £1.50 or so they are I just reuse them on my car and stick a load of locking compound on them instead.
There about an hours labour to...
I don't understand why so many of you havn't got into 2nd until very low speeds 40mph is regular for me to drop it down to second.
Byy the way this a is a diesel so its like doing it at 55 in a petrol.
What doesn't help also is there so many old diesels out there chugging round convincing people there still back in the dark ages plus VAG arn't doing us any favours with there (IMO) low power band diesel although BMW arn't much better in some cases.
