Yeah thats correct in most case's (99%) (and in this case)... :) you can also go to Network Connections, and double click on the connection and click support an find out the Gatway there

You should be able to type the IP address of the router, and login that way an change the configuration depending on what router it is... It will most likly ask for a username/password but most likly again he wont of changed them so you will be able to find them out by looking on the internet...
