Well the car's going in for tie rods, track rod ends and alignment this Friday, so that's the first step in getting it sorted for the rr day. :approve:

I had this when I bought my car, got a replacement boot lock thingy from Renault and that sorted it. They're not that expensive iirc.

Black chrome plating would be the only way to do it properly, only high rollers need apply though. ;)

I really don't want to worry you, but when mine started crunching going into 2nd, it went bang at 70mph a few weeks later, but that could just be mine tbh. I'm sure it'll run for a while if you miss out 3rd whenever you can. Second hand boxes can be had for £150-£250, unless you want to send...

Take the manufacturers figures on bhp gains, add all the mods together, then come up with the magic number. My 172 is running 210bhp over standard using this method, not dyno'd or anything, who needs proof when you've got simple maths. ;)
