Bazinga. Much much better! Can't wait to get them fitted and bed the ds1.11's in. It'll fuckin stop now!!
Also bought a service kit for the 200, so I'll have that done and dusted in the next couple of weeks. All genuine renault parts used!
I'll be dropping the gear oil at the same time and...
I'll have a watch mate.
If you're wondering why I asked, it's because the n/s wheels haven't gone into positive camber (or don't appear to have done), so it actually gives an indication of how much load it's under for a given speed.
@Akay @dann2707 @Coops Turbo are all relatively local to you mate. I'm just down the road in Lichfield.
Big meet coming up this weekend mate. CSF (ClioSport Festival) is on at blyton park.
Ah I was on the pace mate! Lol!!
I'm pretty sure that h&r do 15mm hubcentric spacers tbh.
Bumper brackets are easy to fix. They just need 'massaging' with a grinder. The wing holds the bumper in place anyway.
Ah ok, sounds like there's not much choice then.
On my 200 I run 20mm spacers with longer bolts. They've seen some abuse now too and I've had no issues, but they're also hubcentric. You'd be fine to run a set of longer studs and spacers, providing they're hubcentric on anything over 10mm. They...
I'm not a fan of spacers personally mate as it throws the scrub geometry out too much on the 1*2's. I'd go no more than 10mm, 15mm at a push up front personally.
Well the spring rates ain't the stiffest, but we can work with it!
For a start, go full stiff on the rear dampers and about half way on the fronts. Take it out on track and see how you get on, but be aware that the rear end will now be significantly livelier than before. Too stiff? Drop it off...
Ok we have a starting point! Right next question is what suspension setup do you have? Springs and dampers, or coilovers? If it's the latter, do you know what the spring rates are? Are they adjustable?
With that info I can give you a pretty good starting point for where to go mate.
They look much better in gloss black. In the standard colour they look a bit busy if that makes sense? It's the details where the spokes meet the rim that I'm on about.
From some angles I like the cup spoiler on mine, then from others I think it looks utterly w**k!
I quite like the sprint spoiler, but because I'm a fussy fucker, I'd want it to be all smooth and flowing like the cup spoiler on the mk2's. 🙈
Are you sure it's not just the crap on the discs needs cleaning off? Failing that you need to see if the pads have got stuck in the caliper. That would cause them to stick.
Try winding the piston all the way back in. It may just be sticking slightly from being stood.
That was myself and @nath&alex that did that.
You'd need to look at the bolt pattern, but I'm pretty sure the 197's are more of a rectangular pattern. Easy to get around though tbf. Where the mounting plate is welded to the axle, cut it off and replace it with one to suit the 197 stud pattern...
Cheers. Yeah definitely will.
It's easier to work permanent nights than doing the 6-2/2-10 shift, or at least I found it easier. At the time I had to do it to pay the bills as well, so needs must I guess!
Well thanks for taking the time to read all the way through buddy, and thanks for the kind words.
Yeah it wasn't something that I enjoyed at the time, but me and James can laugh about it now at least! Lol!
I'm glad I got rid of the mk2 tbh and bought the AG. It's a nicer place to be for a...
Yeah no problem mate, they have your name on them.
Amen to that! I've been doing 9hr nightshifts 5x a week for the past 12yrs, so I know exactly what you mean about needing a rest. I'm just counting down the days now.
