Stick the car in reverse and try to push it forwards with a couple of people. If it just stays in place after rolling 1ft then your clutch will be fine
If it just keeps going forward and rotates the engine then it will be shagged

@Olliebeal just swap your ECU relay and the heated screen relay around. My sisters MK3 used to keep the ECU energised with the key off because the relay was fucked, never drained the battery because she was always driving luckily. One day I borrowed it and wondered why the boost solenoid...

Stick the lights on and it should drop to about 13.5 iirc. You say a squealing near the EGR... well under the EGR and inlet J tube that's where the turbo is 😂
Don't bother with PBS rears if you're never going on track
I find that they chew discs waaaayyy more if you're not getting them warm, same with the fronts, unless you're driving a bit harder then you can hear them scraping like you're braking with breezeblocks for pads 😂
