You can't get anywhere near the price of a service exchange box if you add it all up with new bearings and seals.
I'd be finding out the lead time for a service exchange box as well tbh. Last time I enquired (a month or so ago) there was no lead time given - as in no stock!
Yeah it is what I thought I was looking at then unfortunately Pete.
Give ED a chance to map the engine and see what it makes mate I say. Ultimately, a mapped f4r making good power is worth more like that, than one in kit form. Just thinking that at least you can still break it if you get it...
If the front section is joined to the main hoop with the bolted sleeve (most omp cages are like this), I'd just get the front section re made by a reputable company personally. It'll save you the hassle of messing about reshelling the car, and buying a new cage.
There are a fair few companies...
If it's a safety devices dash dodger, you can get it exchanged for a non dash dodger mate. There's a thread on here, so I'd have a look and see if you qualify. Assuming it's an SD cage of course.
@JP83 you don't need longer bolts for the aerocatches mate, you just need to make the hole in the lower skin big enough for you to get a socket on. Aerocatches secured on one skin only is fine, and mine were tested up to 156mph at the Nurburgring.
Well kw v2's are 336lb fronts and i was quite surprised to read that the bilsteins are 400!
They're not that expensive from Faulkner, so it's not a bad idea tbf mate
Er, just looked on kam racings site, and they quote the rates as 400 fronts and 285 rear!!
Up the fronts to 425 or 450 mate is my advice after reading that. You'll not upset the valving in the dampers doing it that way either. A 25lb increase might not sound much, but it would be noticeable.
@incy-spider your tag didn't work for me for some reason? If you do it on tapatalk, it doesn't notify me for some reason?!
Right spring length is easy! They'll either be 8" or 9" long springs. Easier to jack your car up and measure the spring length on full droop.
Don't bother with the rest...
Well it's time for another little update! Ever since I've owned the AG I've never been happy with the condition of the speedlines. The inner barrels of the wheels were still satin black - the original wheel colour, and there were a couple of paint runs on the edges of the spokes. There were also...
It's when you come down craner curve flat out with the rear trying to overtake the front and some right hand opposite lock to correct it, then have to straighten it up for the old hairpin, have the back try and overtake the front (again) and apply some left hand opposite lock to straighten the...
I'd be buying the clutch kit from pms mate. It's cheaper than a Valeo failure and a gearbox rebuild. I never had an issue with the Valeo in mine though tbf, and that was seeing 8k rpm.
Well technically, his flywheel escaped because 519 Danny reused the flywheel bolts...........that are one use only stretch bolts............
What an utter whopper.
