Could have been a nightmare if it’d gone under the aux belt and jumped it.
It looks like the bolt’s worked it’s way further out from not being tightened properly and been rubbing on the pulley. Hopefully hasn’t ruined thread in the block too (looking at the thread damage to the bolt)
I’d be...
I agree to some extent but the fact is it will be a rusty mess if you use an Evo that hasn’t been protected through our winter or leave it outside in our rain. There was nothing stopping you using it on nice days really. Or do you live up North and you’re fcuked for nice days?
I would say...
Amazing job you’ve done by looks of last couple of pages. Will read the whole thread at some point to get the low down on engine etc.
It looks very nicely setup from the last couple of track vids.
Nowhere near as bad. They tend to go on arches and the front panels under the rad on this year.
Evo’s always tends to look good on the outside and go on all the important structural areas of the chassis.
My mate has just bought a fresh import Evo 5 which is mint underneath, had it on the...
So it’s an updated iphone 4 then?
I should buy one as I’ve been moaning about iPhones since the 4 (for shape) and how even a case and screen protector doesn’t protect a curved screen) managed to break my 7+ Screen in the first week even with a case and glass screen protector! Didn’t even break...
Exactly.
The clio I got recently had mikalor clamps for the induction pipework, totally pointless. The clamp on the throttle body was so wide it sat on top of the bead and you could just pull the hose off!
Nice price! Thought my mate was doing well getting a 996 C4 for £6500 (black manual with sports seats too!)
Congrats on a dream car!
I’ve driven my mate’s one a couple of times and it goes better than I’d have expected.
Must admit I didn’t know about iceberg cups until I saw one on eBay yesterday and then this.
Do love the colour, mine looks almost light blue in the low afternoon light.
Yeah that’s crap then.
I really like my snap on impact sockets. I’m no fan boy as my dealer will tell you but I do love my snap on impacts.
In fact, I wouldn’t buy normal chrome sockets if I were starting again. Six sided impact sockets FTW! I prefer the way they feel on the fastener. All...
That pipe should most definitely not be repaired like that!
I wonder if the issue appeared on the MOT due to getting it through emissions and the pipe becoming very soft from the heat of the manifold below & stationary car. It was then able to completely suck itself shut/collapse and the one...
Sounds like a good hire car scam (regards the limiter). Wouldn’t exactly be hard to fit a rev limiter to the car, just shows it’s all about the ‘little’ earner there!
They do look a bit ‘Halfords wheel silver’ but I thought OP was eluding to them being original. They back pic does look like they’ve been painted with the fade of shades near the mounting face but I’ve zero idea what they should look like. If you know yours are original I’d say you’re the man...
I’d say you’ll get strong money to someone with a ph1 if they’re the original finish. You say they’re the original tyres too?
I’d not be surprised if someone would pay you £400 easily for them if they’re all original. I wouldn’t but then again I might if I had some original low mileage ph1...
I’ve been on here 16 years but I’ve only recently got into the place. Before this year I’d hardly visit but then I’d never really read the general chat (not sure I even could before paying?)
I don’t know whether it has changed much(?) but I did get quite into the general chat area earlier this...
Cool little car, looks in nice nick too!
These always remind me of my bro-in-law... bloke has his balls in my sisters purse and is completely under the thumb! Back when these were new he wanted a VTS & went on about them for ages saying he was going to get a new one. He went with my sis to...
ok, well have a look where the seat rail bolts to the floor. As standard there’s some 10-12mm spacers between the rail and the floor, undo the bolts from underneath the car and remove the spacers then just slip a washer in (so the seat moves easily still otherwise you’ll be trapping the carpet...
Well I’d read they will technically bolt on the engine no problem but couldn’t find anything on the actual fit down the back of the engine.
Reason I’d want it was I’d assumed the 197 exhaust was a better evolution of the sport clio manifold and cat. The 182 mani was better than 172, 197 should...
Yep. My hearing is really good so maybe I’m sensitive to it but it genuinely made me feel ill yesterday, can’t be good for you.
Not that you’d get on track but I’d prob throw up after a couple of laps.
