Renault garages can forget to remember to do this as some cars may have had there belt break at mayabe 10k so the belt wouldn't need to be done till 46k if you catch my drift.
Your bill should explain it though a normal service is about £150~ 200 but it they charged over £250 then either its...
Buy my trailer and get a tow car?
Park it on the road and ring the RAC saying its broken?
Garages usually have trade plate if you've a mate there try borrowing them to drive the car home as someone with trade plates can drive any car to an MOT place so long as they've done some basic safety...
You can just get the bearings pushed in from a garage etc and fit the brakes yourself.
Brakes are easy only probelm is the backs as most places don't come with the bearings fitted.
You mean the hub nut? The 30mm one is 175NM or 129lb torque ie tight Nut should be replaced every time but I don't cos I'm cheap just use locking compound but for 80p or whatever they are its worth getting a new one.
German Sweedish French car part its s company Ben.
The you need someone to fit it just get a second hand hub £40 froma breakers. I've got a hub someone at home if you want £30 its yours.
There a guide on a Renault forum showing you how to fiddle the punmp to make it give more power (will give about an extra 10% more power depends how far you open the pins etc and accept the smoke).
Depends how good you are but from what you've said forget it just buy a 1.6 much easier and less hastle. It has been done but its not a simple job if you want more power get a 172 transplant for £1.5k+ vat from matt at Renault specialist breakers and that includes evertything brakes suspension etc.
Personally a Chip wizards is the way I'd do £350 for a remap vs £500 for a SMT thingie. GDi is cheaper gor extra remapos but I don't think Chipwizards charge that much more.
Don't bother with fancy disks IMo they just crack there only advanatge is they look better (although thats down to your preference).
Never had any trouble with Renault or Halfords disks Renault disks are supposidly better material than the Renault ones but since none of either have cracked its...

£3.3k he wants.
I wouldn't say mods are worth anyhting I'd never pay more infact I'd pay less quite a lot of 172 owners buy them as there a fast car cumfortable etc not to rag them to death and thats the tyre of owner I'd prefere to buy...
At the ring last year there was a BMW using the 888 tyres said they were a danger on the motorway in the dry and wet on the drive there but once they got about half way round the track they heated up and stuck like glue.
Just get new or second hand hubs you should get them for about £30 a side. then fitment doesn't take long if you do it yourself maybe 1.5hrs labour at a garage.
If you want them changed then you need a garage to press the old bearings out and new ones in so mayabe £20 a side for the brearing...
Unpluggin the battery doesn't clear the problem it stays in the cars memory.
Probably the throttle body dirty you need to remove it clean it with some carb cleaner and stick it back in.
Yep the cars not stanrd as it left the factory so if you crash they can refuse to pay out as you didn't tell them it had more power (however small).
There was a forum member some time ago had a crash insurance assessor came round and refused to pay out as the car had different aftermarket...
