start > control panel and put UAC in the search box. It brings up an option to disable it.
start > control panel then change startup programs and turn off sidebar :)
Now I've disabled UAC on my vista laptop I have an annoying little windows security alert icon and occasional popup telling me its disabled. Like I didn't know!
Is there anyway of getting rid of the icon without disabling all the alerts? i.e anti virus/ firewall etc. warnings too?
I found it easier to do from the engine bay tbh. Can't remember the heat shield getting in the way tho.. was a while ago tho. dont have it in anymore either stripped out the rear a while ago. The only problem iirc about doing it from the inside is you need to be quite 'bendy' as you have to get...
I kept blowing fuses so went for the fatty (had 3 amps running thru it) never blew after that. The fuse was huge! about 50mm long and 15mm thick.
Managed to get it through after alot of potty mouthing.

I tried vista a while ago when it was longhorn and didn't like it at all but I have bought a laptop for work with vista home premium on it and have been playing with it for the past couple of days and I have got to say I really like vista now! never thought I would say it but I think I have been...
I think it will lose the recordings. Better try that than get a new box as you will definitely lose everything then. Have you got a dvd recorder you can record your programs onto?
After trawling through the fleabay, I was thinking about £10 average per game?
About £200 for all the hardware and peripherals?
So all in all about £450?
think that I am being realistic with that?
