I'd order bc's over gaz any day of the week. Far far superior.
A lot of bc's have that collar to adjust ride height without altering the damper travel. Good idea tbf.
The machining involved in fitting the Quaife diff in a jc5 is only done on the oe crownwheel mate. They machine pockets into it for ball bearings as these retain the crownwheel. It's pressed on and glued on the original.
To fit it in the box, I'll condense the process! Remove box, split box...
I use the same grade/spec in my track car and will be running it in the new engine as well when it's built.
I'll also be running a laminova oil cooler to warm the oil up quicker.
Everytime I wash and polish my cup I polish the windows at the same time with the same car body polish (usually meguiars) and I've never had a problem.
Here's my efforts from the afternoon at the Rs day. These are 2:06-2:08's as there weren't any megs on slicks to chase! The rear wheel bearings are fucked in this video as well, so it made it a bit more lively on the rear end. Them curb stones at Brittens didn't like me straightlining them. Lol!
It's because of the original design and size mate. They have to use such a large piece of the correct grade steel (not cheap) then machine a lot of it away to manufacture a lsd for a Clio. The originals are just cast and machined up so they're obviously cheaper in comparison, but they wouldn't...
When I paired my original loom back it was done with no diagrams whatsoever mate, so I feel your pain. You'll appreciate all the effort you've put in to do it though when you weigh what you've removed! All sub 1kg's worth of it. I s**t you not! Lol
Don't rule out the gen90 ecu from Ktec. Utilises the original wiring loom with no cutting required, and just as good as the other ecu's out there. They come up on here for sale from time to time and more than capable of running a s/c engine.
Megane pulley has a key on it to locate on the stock cranks key way. Standard f4r's don't have a keywayed bottom belt pulley, but with the additional forces from the supercharger you need the megane pulley to stop them slipping.
I bore witness to him trying to diagnose a car with a cambelt that had jumped a tooth or 2, and it would appear that he couldn't even tell that it was turning over faster than normal because it had bent valves and f**k all compression!! That was an instant way for me to lose any respect that I...
If you don't start the engine then the flush will do no damage at all to the engine mate so don't panic. Realistically even if you did start it, it still won't do anything as by the sounds of it it's making no oil pressure! If that's the case how long did you run the engine for with the light...
'I am the type of person who achieves fulfillment by learning new skills, and applying them successfully. I take pride in finished projects and great personal interest in seeing things from start to finish.'
Can you smell the bullshit?
Is that just a Yorkshire thing then? I thought the average was 6"? Flol!!!
The vital word you missed out there was snow my boy!! I read it and thought, wtf?! Lol
If they aren't fucked I'd be tempted to re-ring them tbh mate.
You'll know if it's damaged the ring lands/skirts when you pop them out. The ring lands normally fall off where they've cracked.
