Ah, a fellow Schweizer! Actually I'm british but been living here a couple years now.
Thanks for the tips, I'll add the tinted rear windows for sure. The colour is still bothering me though - the Recaros are only available in Yellow, so it seems a shame not to tick the LY option.
Did you get...
Luxe pack gives you:
-Climate Control
-Rainsensors
-Autolights
-Keyless Go
-Uprated hifi with bluetooth / handsfree
The colour is a tough one: I'd like LY but it's just too expensive! So, it's either White or Albi Blue.
Right folks, after a year in Cupped 182 FF and a year in a Trophy, I think it's time for a change.
Actually I wasn't really planning it, but after reading eCOTY earlier today I trundled down to the local Renault dealer to have a look at a 200.
After ten minutes I had the keys to a test car...
nope, doesn't work even if the engine is running.
If you have a RHD 1*2 you could easily get the one touch mechanism from a LHD driver's side and use it in your passenger side.
Has anyone converted a non-one touch to a one touch?
Is it possible to fit one touch window switches to both front windows?
I have a Swiss Trophy and neither of my front windows are one touch, which can be a bit of a pain.
What parts will I need for this?
Is there a how-to guide?
I have a Trophy and I'm quite interested in getting a built-in satnav for it.
Does anyone know if it's possible to get this retrofitted? Any idea of costs?
What sort of satnav unit is it - good quality, easy to use, etc?
To all those who have the built-in option, please can you post some...
what sort of noise is it? I have a similar noise on my trophy, just wondering if it's the same thing: mine sounds like there's something hard rubbing against something vibrating at high revs - it's only noticeable whehn I come off the throttle abruptly at high revs.
Is that the same thing...
I just got my car back from the dealer after the following work:
-new gearbox
-new clutch
-new flywheel
-new driveshafts
-back to standard sachs dampers (original ones at the front, brand new at the rear)
This little lot was the result of accidentally clocking 2nd rather than fourth from the...
Any idea how much each seat weighs? Just the seat, excluding runners and mounts.
Also, are the driver and passenger seats interchangeable? i.e. could you use a pair of seats from a RHD car for a LHD car?
on my car the calipers at the front have a hard line going into them, do I replace that hard line section as well? There doesn't seem to be a screw connection from the hard line to the rubber hose.
So at the rear, the lines connecting to the calipers actually remain rubber, is there no way to...
My trophy's brakes fade pretty badly whenever I get on track, so I'd like to upgrade to braided hoses.
Thing is, I can't quite see where to fit them. Do you remove the hard pipe and rubber hose that connects into the calipers front and rear and use the braided hose instead?
As far as I can...
I've heard this discussion that R888's are wider than usual, so you can go with a 195 rather than a 205.
However, wouldn't it still be better to go with the 205? Surely wider means more grip, up to a certain point?
Are there any reasons beyond price that dictate the use of a 195 rather than...
I'm looking to buy some Toyo R888's for my Trophy to use on track.
I will use the standard 16 inch rims.
What size tyres do I need? Do I use the same 205/45 as I would for the PE2's or should I go for a 195 tyre?
I have heard that the R888's are a little wider than standard tyres, so you...
I have recently bought a Trophy on KW V2's and need some help working out how on earth to set it up...
When I got it, it had the damping set pretty hard, which made the ride a real pain for the road. I have now wound the damping all the way to soft and it's given the car near-oe levels of ride...
well I figure those bolt holes must be strong enough since they are the original mounting points for the rear belts.
You mean you just attached both lines of the harness to the clip side of the rear seatbelt mount?
It's my daily driver and my girlfriend needs to use it too, so ABS is going...
Got my harnesses today
Removed the bottom half of the rear bench, unbolted the seat belt mounts and bolted the eyelets in their place. The door side lap strap goes to the OE seat belt hole and the tunnel side goes to an eyelet that is bolted through the floor and joined to a plate under...
Just worked it out - those holes are for the OE seat rails, Mark must have used the harness eyelets instead of the standard bolts. These bolt right through the floor and get secured by a nut underneath, should be pretty strong.
What sort of seat subframes do you have Inferno?
Great post inferno, very useful. Looks like the rear holes are from the rear seat belts, so they should be just fine. On the door side I'm using the oe seat belt guide hole - any reason you didn't use this?
The two holes on the other side of the seat look like a great find - the eyelets just...
that's a nice start, cool harnesses.
Which holes are you using at the back? How do you know they will hold? Is the angle ok?
What about the lap straps, are they mounted to the seat subframe? Closeup photos of the mounting eyes would be awesome!
I have a set of harnesses arriving shortly...
Thanks for the input mate - I'll keep you in mind come sale time, although it won't be for a couple of weeks.
I had a look at the hub removal guide in the guides section yesterday, but I will actually need to go a stage further a split the hub from the hub carrier (hub meaning the disc that...
Warren, I saw your PM and could be interested - just need to sort out the swap first. If you know of any sachs rear dampers going spare, I'd really appreciate it!
Are the bearings the same for the two different types of hub?
yeah the previous owner switched out the hub for some reason - possibly because the KW doesn't fit a Trophy hub? Not sure if the 172 / 182 / Trophy etc all share the same hub design?
Is it difficult to switch out the hub? Do I need special tools?
Will I need to change the bearings in the...
I'm thinking of swapping from KW coilovers back to OE on my trophy.
How difficult is this to do? Can I do it myself on my driveway or do I need some special tools?
My big concern is that I will need to change the front hubs - is that a difficult job?
I may also need to change the...
My olf 182 FF did the same thing - very crunchy, especially after a long journey.
My Trophy has the same issue, but to a much lower extent.
Not sure anything can be done about it.
