Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
your rev counter will work fine, we've 100% got that issue fixed. your clocks have been modded already so just plug the correct wire from the clocks (pin 13 on the large connector behind the rev counter) into pin 70 of the 172 ecu.
you will also need to...
have a read through mine and f0xys thread for the temp gauge solution. we plumbed in the mk1 clio dash temp sensor in addition to the 172 item.. i presume you can do the same with the 5.
the 172 rad fan should work properly provided you have the relays in place still as well as connecting up...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
the plot thickens

looks like mine is hitting the cold limiter! even though you can see when the camera is on the coolant temp gauge its 100% up to temp!

Max. engine speeds for a coolant temperature < 75°C 6,700 rpm
for a coolant temperature > 75°C in 1st or 2nd gear 7,200 rpm

if it limits at 6000 we're...
agreed, nothing wrong with debate! :)

the rail is about £15 from renault
the reg is nearer to £40 (but comes with the seals) and you need the clip (#9 - about a quid)
i've always wondered how it works on modern cars where the tax is based on C02
it's easy on mine as its just lumped by engine size (1.8 to 2 leeeetah, so no change anyway)
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
:D
whether or not its compatible with the 172 ecu is another thing... but im still sure it should be!

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
if you watch the last 3rd when i slowly move forward again, you can see it flick between 12 and 0.. even on a laggy multimeter
