Your brake compensator valve could be seized as well. If it's seized in the closed position (as they do move - only by a small amount though) it will be getting more pressure to the rear brakes. That would cause it to snake under braking, but only if it's heavy braking really.
You need new...
I've fitted solid rack mounts to another car I own and it makes the steering feel sharper, but at the expense of more road noise and vibrations.
Having removed a rack on a Clio, I'd say to fit the bushes is a bit of a pita tbh. With the engine in and subframe attached it's far from a nice job...
They leak mate. That's the main issue with them. The ones my mate had corroded really badly as well even though they're coated to protect them. The rear height adjuster collars seized and so did the adjustment knob.
It didn't help that they were out in all the salt and crap though tbh.
The...
By the looks of the thread on the link bars it's about 8mm?? (13mm spanner size) If that's the case I would imagine Fred is saying to shorten them to reduce the flex. At that length they will allow a lot of movement from the leverage and there's always a possibility they could snap, although...
Am I right in assuming that your having these valved to suit the rear springs you'll be using? Iirc, they have quite a few clicks of adjustment on them so it should allow you quite a range of spring rates that you can use. +\- 50-100lb in most cases.
A mate of mine had them on a Clio...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Let me know if they mess you around mate. You can get them delivered here and I'll take them over to Fred for you. In return, you can explain it all to my missus! Lol!
The springs were made up by coilsprings in Sheffield. They were custom made to my spec. They can make anything you like, you just need to ring them up and ask their opinion mate.
For track work and fast road you are going to be compromised though. If you go to stiff it will be almost...
The bearing conversion kit for the rear beam removes the play that you get from using the original rubber bushes. These are replaced with spherical bearings and locate the rear axle more securely. That in turn means that the geometry at the back end remains the same.
When I got my springs made...
Did you get any dry running when you were there?
The key to the ring is track knowledge mate, and that only really comes with putting in the laps. I always find that it's reasonably grippy in those conditions. It's when it's just rained that it's a bit dicey!!
I run kw v2's on my car and found the rear way to soft for track work. I opted to modify the kw's and had custom made stiffer rear springs and got the kw dampers revalved to my settings. Works perfect on track now and is useable on the road.
I also use the pure motorsport bearing kit in the...

I'm surprised they didn't send them to me like the last time!! Lol! It would've been significantly easier for me to get them to Fred though!
Yeah it was a bit of trial and error with mine tbh. I also thought about getting mine painted and the dents removed but I can't really be arsed!
8:39 is your ring target time! That's on road tyres as well! Pulled that out the bag this weekend. Well made up!
15's and r888's next year!!
They also flap faster than a hummingbirds wings at 140+ with all the strengthening ribs removed! Lol! Mine was making a humming noise when we were at those speeds in Belgium! Lol
Ah yes that would be me then! Lol!
Nah didn't have any trouble with the police mate - where were they??
Yes the campsite was certainly something to be desired. What a s**t hole!! Lol
I use a snap on pry bar. If you put the cranked end against where the floor pan curves upwards towards the bulkhead, you can use the bracket that secures the bush as your lever pivot. Then it's simply a case of push with one hand and pass the bolt through the bracket with the other. You can use...

Just watched the video James! You were right as well! I'd have definitely been losing my temper with the amount of people getting in the way! Lol!
You could do with a shift light at eye level as well. Saves...
Yes mate a massive amount. It starts working at around 15-20mph and the vents are directional as well. You can have cool air blowing in your face or down near your jacobs! Lol!
I fitted mine after me and the missus got stuck in roadworks on the Brussels ring road last year. We were on the way...
It tightens the front end up quite nicely having the bushes fitted. It takes me longer to lift the car up in the air and put it on axle stands than it does to fit the bushes!! They're not difficult to fit at all if you've got the tool for the job! And I don't mean fitting longer bolts or using g...
Yes that's it mate. There's still a small amount that comes through, but nothing drastic. Not to noisy at triple figures either!! Iirc, I paid £255 delivered for mine. It needed some fettling but nothing drastic.
Yeah I've seen that mate! Thanks! Nah never got one but I might get in touch with...
