Although I use it on track, I'd say I do 10% track driving and 90% road. At the moment my car is 100kg lighter than standard, when I'm done with weight loss it'll be around 940-950kg with me in it and a full tank of fuel. 400lb springs are enough on the front for me, especially with the weight...

Have you tried Konis? I've had both new cup shocks and Konis in conjunction with a complete suspension and steering component overhaul. The Konis offer the better ride and in more ways than just compliance.

They are, but that's one of the downsides in that the bars are close to your head if you had a bump and no helmet. I'd rather a non-dash dodger so the bars follow the frame of the car.

AdamR had the AVO on his cup and had issues with bits seizing.

The corrosion protection on the Bilstein and H&R is pretty good. They are a quality product if your not fussed about damping adjustment and just want a nice firm ride that isn't crashy.

In terms of bhp per £ the pipers are best. Unless you can find some used 421 or engine dynamics/shrick cams Kent don't do them for the 172
