[/LIST]So, don't use any of the features you bought it for and make it impossible to read the screen, and if possible don't use it at all?
Intelligent. Why not do what SE did with the Xperia, which was make a battery that could cope with the drain...
Yeah, take the battery off, 3/4 very flat and short screws hold the top panel off, take the hinge covers out and the strip over the keyboard, 2 screws on the keyboard and it lifts up and it's the one that goes across the top of the optical drive. :)
Nope, Dells are pretty good TBH. Only issue I've raised time and time again is that they couldn't fix my XPS because of an nVidia chip - but that wasn't Dell's fault - HP/Apple/MSI/Gigabyte/Asus all had the same issue.
Other than that one laptop, every Dell laptop I've had has been brilliant...
Got an ATI Radeon X600, will fit nicely. Similar performance to the existing graphics, but has DVI and VGA out. And you can have it for the cost of postage!
The Dell restore stuff is actually pretty good, but to start with I'd just use something like Raxco's PerfectDisk to try and sort out your hard disk - do a full defrag, then system files (restart required), then a full defrag and you should be back up to speed unless it's thoroughly borked.
FFS! You big fuckin homo - whining about 8meg broadband! Some people need to live in the real world - we only get 2meg, which is more than ample for what I tend to do! My webserver lives on a dedicated 100meg line, and the office we have a dedicated 10meg line... That serves an entire company...
Don't get me wrong, the Asus is very good value, but in terms of 'feel' I think the Samsung wins. Plus the space for HSDPA if they get round to it will be a winner - I'll be buying a new one when they do!
It's a feature the current generation of Netbooks are missing, and it's not too hard to...
700-800kbps - you mean kBps or kbps? As they're very different. Either way though that's similar to what I get reliably over my BT line in my village...
This one's not got the fittings for it, however when they do release the HSDPA-enabled version (not sure on release date for that though!) there are the solder heads for both the Mini ExpressCard and the SIM reader under the battery.
From my first post.
Fair enough, that's your opinion - however I very much believe that while, yes, 5 and 6 had room for improvement, 6.1 is very much a different animal. Complete with the X-Panel on the Xperia I think it's a very functional device - much more so than any of my old Mobile devices. Hell, even the...
