What are the finance company called? google them? On my HPI it told me the car was on dealer finance with VWFS for unit stocking.

Phone the finance house, say you want to buy the car but the owner says it has no outstanding finance. Explain you have HPI'd it and it shows they have an interest in the car and can they confirm if there is still outstanding finance or if it has all been settled. Bear in mind HPI isn't instant...
