As above. the only problem is that it has a stainless exhaust which gets really boomy at about 3k. Is there anything I can do to quiten it (silencer maybe). I was thinking of a decat so maybe get it done at the same time as this.
This is a full fat 172 but I have always wanted leather so theres no way im going for your poverty spec;)
I intend to extract a few more gees from it over the coming years so I dont think the weight saving will really matter. Plus I have a lightning left foot so, unless I am face to face with...
Was that your first go in one?
That is what I hope happens tomorrow.
I currently drive a Chavalier 2.0 16v which is no slouch but I have had it for nearly 3 years since I was 20 and I want something with some real pace.
The one I am going to see has a subtle twin exit stainless with slight cut into the rear bumper. This has a lifetime guarantee so will I still see a problem?
Ive never been near one before but have always wanted one.
I am going to see a mk2 tomorrow which has 30k on the clock and is up for £6600. What should I look out for?
Would I be stupid to buy the first I saw?
Insurance is about £1100 with Tesco and Ive only got another 6 months to run on that policy so I should find a cheaper quote by then. I am 23 so insurance shouldnt be that much of a problem.
I want a Mk2 as I cannot stand the Playmobil dash in the Mk1.

My loan has just come through today so I now have £7k burning a hole in my pocket. Where is a good place to look for a 172 (not Cup). I want:
Leather,
Less than 40k,
Mk2
Any ideas?
Im just wondering as I dont want a Cup but would like to be able to compare prices with 172s. Does the exclusivity outweigh the fact the car is poverty spec in comparison?
Thats perfect Tom. Many thanks.
cupking: I had thought about a Cup but I dont think I could do without my luxuries (Leather, Air Con, ABS:o). I dont think I could justify their loss either as Im not really looking for an all out track car, more a comfortable car capable of teaching chavs a...
So 172-182:
Twin outlet exhaust that removes the spare wheel-A bit gay really.
Widened front and rear tracks-This effect can be achieved with new alloys with a different offset.
Revised front suspension/re-rated suspension/strengthened rear suspension-A decent spring/damper setup can give...
Dont shoot me down as I am new to this Clio lark. Ive had a good search but cant find the answer.
Is a 182 worth the roughly £1500 premium over a 172?
Can a 172 be converted to 182 spec?
Thanks in advance.
