yup roy your right they do 720p50 and 60 now but as you say the bandwidth required not to mention processing power is huge let alone file sizes and time to actually make textures that detailed etc

this is the same reason as to why 1080i50 and 60 can be just as good as 1080p

right the 24 25 30 etc all relates to the framerates they are able to display pal is 25 frames per second and ntsc is 24 or 30 film is usually filmed in 24 fps only games for the forseeable future (even they might not) will use 50 and 60hz as it would cost too much to change all the movie...

well at 1080p you have 24,25,30,50 and 60 Hz i cant rememeber what one the sony cant do tho i was reading about it on avforum

oh and teh sony doesnt do all 1080p formats just to make you aware

rms doesnt mean its any good !! its like car stereo's just because its loud doesnt mean it sounds any good at all it will sound alright but even a budget speaker system and seperate amp will more than likely piss on it

its alright and its doable but home cinema in a box are never that good

re gassing is a myth they dont need it but they do get image retention and in cases screen burn. they also have a huge power requirement oh and image issues but lcd isnt perfect either

yup my copy of saints row turned up 2 days ago great service highly recommend them

tbh the best plasma was the 436xde by pioneer but most plasmas dont even have regular shaped pexels they use square ones and a standard 4x3 resolution oh and sony no longer make plasmas because lcd they feel is the way forward

lcd can be had anywhere upto 65" these days and they support 1080p unlike plasma !!

unless your going to watch 100% standard definition id go lcd oh and for 1k your not going to get a great plasma 2k yes 1k not really

dont go for a 42" plasma would be my advice
