Yes but so are 1.2 Clios ;)
He says he wants it to look better. Springs + insurance change will just about fill the budget.
It'll look the same as if the boot was filled with a couple of bags of cement. What's the point ?!
Fancied one of these after I sold my GTti... Boost in a car that weighs as much as a bag of sugar is fab. No one believed it was a 1litre !
However, I bought a Clio instead... :o
So it beeps after someone scrapes up the side with a handbag after the damage is done !?
An alarm warning people to stay away won't stop the stupid/ignorant/clumsy ones unfortunately.
Toys ?!
Cruise is the only thing worth having, but I've survived 10 years of driving without it. Same goes for traction or stability control .. absolutely no need in a FWD hatch. Ph1's have ABS and a/c as standard.
The 172's are all Mk2s .. ph1 looks like this:
Ph2 looks like this:
I've owned both .. I preferred the dash/interior in the Ph2 .. That was it on plus points over the Ph1. The Ph1's interior never bothered me however.
Ph1 in my experience is cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure, cheaper...
If you're really close, lense: wide as hell, remote, tripod, bulb mode, F11, ISO1-400 (see how you get on). Failing the remote, 20-30 seconds shutter, F8-11 (again see how you get on) or tighter if they're not too crisp.
Check Flickr for photos, cheat by looking at the exif and it gives you a...
There's plenty more to come out there ;)
I think stripping the back of the Mk2 Clio is a better total due to the ISOfix bar and the spare wheel/toolkit (182's not applicable obviously!).
Good effort anyway, and well done for documenting it !
F**ked.
Check the dipstick .. any oil in the sump ? I'm guessing not. Get your head under there and have a look see what's going on ! Might be difficult if you're not at home, as the lower engine cover will be in the way etc.
Good luck ! :S
Do NOT attempt to turn the engine over again FFS...
Don't worry about it !? Even my Grandad's Honda Jazz has no spare.
OEMs are cost cutting and weight saving, and fuel saving too... whats the point of carrying around 20kgs of steel which costs the OEM profit around for the life of the car... (rhetorical).
I love my 10-20mm !
Canon FTW.

Re: Anyone know why there's high pitch beeping sound when Iput my hear near the whee
IIRC, just like hearing the sea by putting your ear close to a shell, you can hear the Dieppe ferry if you listen really carefully in any Renault made since 1994.
Buy a can or two from Halfords/Tesco.
The foam only works if you've a small puncture - if the tyre is shredded, it's as useless for obvious reasons. Make sure your RAC/AA/GreenFlag payment is up to date !
Don't carry a spare in your boot. It'll fill it up completely as Clio boots are...
Mine was corroded in my black ph1, I tried to swap it but the pins had snapped, so I gave up .. looked much better at night :D
It's a terrible design - they all go green and minging unless you silicone up a new one.
Also - have you incorporated insurance into your £2.5k finances ? I'm assuming you're young but you might be 50 for all I know so insurance is practically free ;) If you're 18 it might be the same price as the car ! :(
