Mine's done this for yonks, it had new sparks 40+k ago, new h/t leads about 10k ago, has had regular services/filter changes and even a replaced t/b.
I just live with it. Still goes like stink.
Ok, I was removing the small black rectangular 5 pin relay, it's situated in a row of three and it's the one nearest the battery/furthest away from the wing and behind the n/s headlight.
I managed to short it, and the car won't start without it.

Not the most enjoyable of jobs, just like doing the fronts, however the pistons need 'winding' back in so your new pads will fit. Have a go, it's not too bad.
Mine's the same. My mechanic fixed the outer cv boot on the other side, and found this in the process. He said he wasn't too worried about it, cos it doesn't 'move' as much being an inner CV joint. So, I'm only a bit worried... Was ages ago too.

I tried safe mode and restore, downgrading and updating driver etc. Deleting and updating from dell's site too. God knows what I've done. I appreciate the help tho. Thanks.
