you're my hero, well one of three. j.ross, r.brand and now g4z!
You've seen nothing till you've seen an artic go round a mini roundabout. legends on wheels.
You sayin your car without air con will out handle mine? C'mon?! Cups are a little lighter, but are pleb spec biscuit tins with pretty little 172 decals that fall off. And aren't cups and non cups both still sports?
Get some software for a N series phone/iphone, the stuff that uses accelerometers and GPS to time your 0-60. Garage419 tested them and they are really accurate. I had one on my n95, it's freeware. The best I could do with a standard 172 mk2 was 7.4 seconds 0-62. Was pretty chuffed with that...
When my bearings went on the back it was really hard to tell which side was duff, but it did get louder/quieter when turning at speed. Think the rear axle joing the wheels confuses/transfers the sound. Eventually sounded like a jumbo taking off. Haven't got ESP, so can't comment.
Went to Kwik Fit this morning, the bloke there was a right patronising c**t, but put my car on the lift, took the caliper off and immediately saw I'd left a spring off my pad! D'oh!!!!
He tried to flog me some unipart pads for £70, or said put up with the rattle. I asked if he had any springs...
Bad luck mate, glad to hear you're not dead or owt! National speed limit roads vs stationery vehicles = crunchorama.
I had a similar accident in a Cavalier 5 or 6 years back, stood up similarly well.
