think, touch wood, i've sorted this. Went to halfords after work and picked up some leads that looked like they'd fit, as they don't stock rs leads, and whacked them on. Been out for a 15 min drive, and so far so good.

Think mine is 0573063. Really can't stress how much benefit the latest fw offers mate. The one you're on v.12 is rubbish, slow, buggy etc etc. You can always switch the code back... Don't think 7370 is a proper hard reset either, (all my settings remained when I did this) and without formatting...

clean the bottom connection in the lighter, where all the crap settles. and check your fuses

of course you can, like others have said. My e36 320i 2000cc was a peach. Good balance of power, 150bhp and mpg IMO. Sounded sweet and pulled like a train at 157k.

could be the boot mate... my tailgate doesn't seem to shut right, and if i put a bit of rubber around the lock mechanism between the boot and the tailgate the creaky arse is no more.
