I think its the uncertainty of what's going to happen. When everyone is out to get you, that's fine. But going along with some common goal, only to be done over while waiting to extract is just, well. s**t.
Might be alright for a lot of people, but I'd rather waste my time on something else! :P
Dipped under 7.20 on a quick go now, just with the racing line on. Got a few more seconds in that I'm sure as I ran wide at one point and need to ease off there.
7.25 with just the racing line added.
Tbh, the racing line can give too many false negatives. Like the corner at Aremberg quickly goes red when approaching at speed, yet the Dallara EXP can easily handle that in 6th gear with the foot to the floor. Likewise, several other corners I don't...
Have you played the recent System Shock reboot from Nightdive Studios? It's brilliant.
Silly cheap on Loaded at the minute too - less than £2!

Probably the first one for me was Scarabaeus on the C64. More 'jumpy' I guess because I hadn't a clue as to what I was doing!
I remember my first 'F*CK OFF!' outburst at the monitor screen in F.E.A.R. too. Creepy little b**ch...
Tend not to play many scary games at all. Subnautica as been...
My mistake - it's not the tyres you make optimal, but the track conditions, under 'Initial Grip'.
It's in the Weather & Track Conditions section of the main screen above.
7.33 so far with all assists off. Was doing better on the next lap, before I actually ran out of fuel.... :P
Still impressed that you managed anywhere near your time with a pad, @SharkyUK !
Well impressive that with a pad - I simply cannot control any of the cars with a pad. Obviously, the steering is by far the hardest part, but I find the subtle changes on the brakes and throttle very difficult on a pad too.
Great time too!
Can we have a practice time set on the 'Ring with clear weather, midday and any assists declared?
Car to be the Dallara EXP (?) open top.
Open to anyone, but calling in the usual suspects. Off course, screenshot evidence of laptimes are required.... ;)
@Matt Cup @McGherkin @SharkyUK @mace¬...
Been trying the MX-5 ND Global Cup car in full manual, in a single type/single lap race of the 'Ring. Really good fun. Span it a few times where I'm letting the clutch out too drastically on the downshifts and the rear end is light; but it's a very compliant car overall.
Cheated 'slightly' by...
Still utterly lifeless unfortunately - did half of the Wales test turning the wheel with my little finger.
Then fired up AC Evo and immediately the FFB was there.
Cheers - I'll give that a try.
It's also got the issue with the PXN-CB1 switch box as well where its reading an incorrect signal from it. I have to disconnect it to use it currently, though there's likely a fix online somewhere.
So, tried the wheel with this at dinner. The feedback is absolutely lifeless - like nothing at all coming through the wheel. Almost went off into the hedges on the first bend.
Wonder if there are some Fanatec wheel setups online. Both ACC and AC Evo have way more feel than this.
Glad I wasn't the only one who found the controls a bit weird. Not tried it since the update, so will give the wheel another bash with it at some point.
That's the main reason why I stagger my phone purchases - for longer periods now that what I used to. Back in the day, the tech was old within a month, but now they are getting to the point that you have to justify it hard to yourself to make the step-up worthwhile.
After twelve years of...
Nabbed two of the three achievements in the demo, the 2nd being tougher.
The last one to do all stages under 7mins must take some doing. I'm nowhere near that.
Had to hold the C button (?) at the start of each race to zoom out as far as the game would let me.
Definitely revolves around learning the upcoming corners, ideally without looking at the mini map. I have found some yellow rated corners to be just as harsh as red ones, imo.
