The ABS sensors are on the brakes .. they look at the ABS ring which rotates with the brake disc. The ring has teeth on it, the sensors basically count teeth, and if one is reading zero, and the other 3 are reading more than zero, it tells the ABS system one is locked. Why do you think there...

So you knew it needed a cambelt .. that money should have already been accounted for when you bought it. A week on here sees about 3 threads with "my car doesnt go round corners/i've discovered i've got leaking rear shocks" as the main plot. Buy a new pair or rear shocks and fit them yourself...
