Just noticed this bolt has come loose, just wanted to check before I tighten it back up if there is a torque rating for it and if its worth putting some thread lock on it?
Have checked the service manual quickly but can't find it.
Also what exactly does it do? Sounds stupid but is it for...
Lowered?
Highly modified to the origional 172 bhp
ABS?
5 seats?
This guy knows his stuff
NICE
But as said if its tidy then get the s**t off and sell it and you will have a nice car
Do you mean splitter? If so search there are loads of threads
I think its £90 from Renault (way to expensive)
Carbon ones it £120 fro k tec
or a pug 307 one is only like £30, with a little trimming of the ends needed
Im in the process of getting a 307 one, i think they look great.
This thread...
I think that it would be a lot easier for you to prove it wasn't fit for use if it didn't drive like it should, because if it does drive like it should then i would say its fit for use IMO.
^^ this is true, unless he happens to be a very nice guy. Even if you get your money back its going...
I feel sorry for you, I found mine had had a knock in the back when it was a body shop, but lucky nothing like yours (from what you have said) but finding out made me feel pretty s**t.
Unfortunately i think you may have a fight on your hands as he will say it never leaked when he had it, which...
The cup is better because I have one FACT!
Seriously tho, i would drive both. I wanted a cup because i like the idea of it being more "raw", but i understand that there aint much in it really. Plus of all the things extra on a 172 the only thing I wanted was the ABS, but so far i aint needed...
I think it should be explained when taking the policy out, although I guess that NCB is at the insurers discretion anyway.
Im just glad I realised and didn't insure with a company, have a crash, then get told my insurance is void!
I am sure this has been covered before but I felt I had to bring it to people’s attention again just in case.
The bonus accelerators (10 months = 1 year NCB) that are available through certain insurance companies are not all that they seem. I know that they are slight more expensive overall...
Cheers man that would be great, I will let you know when im getting the wheel sorted if that's cool? Just waiting to sort some other stuff first.
Cheers,
Will
Mine leaks from everywhere. Never seems to drop levels at all but there it always oil leaking. I seem to have a pretty bad one out the back of the engine, onto the manifold (not good). Think its a cam belt off job to fix tho! Gear linkage leaks etc... The drip tray has a pool of oil in it!!
I don't have a 200 but one thing I hate is when a manual says something and when you try it it doesn't work!! Pisses me off.
So had a search and it mentions it in the spec on renaultsport website.

bout half way down
Car looks amazing, new wheels? Which dealer's did you get the splitter from? Was it the Leicester one out by the Renault dealer (heading towards loughborough)?
I tried getting one from there a while ago and the guy wasn't to sure what i was on about, he showed me one but I think it must have...
Excuse my ignorence but surely u could just unbolt the supercharger kit, okay it's a bit more effort. As long as u kept the origional parts I can't seeing it being to much of a problem?
Sorry, i couldn't remember... well whoever did it, its very well done. Before I saw one in the metal I was sceptical about what the quality would be like, but now i've seen it im very impressed.
Ignore everyone who is giving you s**t. If you want to do it then go for it... i haven't heard anyone who has done a turbo or supercharger saying they don't like it, plus it will be rapid.
I would imagine k-tec is your best bet. I saw one last weekend that I think was done at k-tec, it was...
I understand how it was meant to work but in reality people weren't getting such a good deal. But it probably encouraged more people to buy as they thought they would get a better deal.
ie. Go into a dealer and say I want a new car what deal can you do me and they will knock money off, but...
You make a good point, I think i was getting caught up in the anger of the moment.
I don't think it was the best scheme tho, the idea was good but not well executed ... in most cases you end up paying more than you would have done without using the scrappage scheme, not always but a lot of...
This scrappage thing is complete bullshit, like everyone said some great cars are being lost... yet another thing are wonderful government has managed to f**k up! I actually felt a little sick reading about the 205 gti :dapprove:
As for the Austin, the stupid woman, I personally would have...
