yeah thought that would be the case. didnt have time to get online at the time, but i will keep that in mind as it would only take half hour to change them!

had this on the 172.
turned out to be the spark plugs (or atleast 1 of them - it was shot to pieces)
the extra fuel that isnt burnt goes into the cat and this was making the exhaust monitor light show. caused mis-firing and terrible idling.
tried the coil pack and a new one made no...
turn out it was the spark plugs! had it diagnosed locally for 40quid and turns out it was the plugs/leads. got some ngk platinum ones for £8 each!
leads however are 120 from renault so they can stay there for a while lol!
car is running like a dream now!!!!!

Hi. Having a few problems with the 172.
The 'exhaust gas monitor light' was flashing yesterday, car stuttering, mis-fired a few times (or at least made a funny pop sound) and seems to have lost alot of power!
today the light is on constantly.
have read alot of threads on here with people...
am i right in thinking that the silvervisions are more orange in colour and are a brighter more visible orange when they are on. and silvatecs are completely chrome/silver, and dont shine as orange???
