You can, I did that with mine before I could be bothered fitting the x-overs and tweeters but it will not sound nearly as good. Temporary - yes, permanent NO! Hope this helps :)

Spend a 2-3k on a car you can insure for 1k or less, you play about fitting ICE, scrape the bumpers and the alloys and in a couple of years trade it in and be ready for a decent motor. Dont get a new car, look for a fairly used 16v but go down to 1.2 or 1.4 and save the insurance.

Ive had a few steering adaptors for my set and they all behave differently, they arent mapped exactly to the way the Renault one works. Pressing the two vol buttons on the first one I had brought up the tone/balance controls, on the second it activated ATT.

The only probs Im having with the Cobra are that it hasnt been fitted properly. The job was very poor and the car was two hours late. Its back in today for the faults rectifying and I guess Ill be keeping tomorrow night free to refit the trims, radio etc. properly (again).
