    CD skipping

The HU is supposed to be this new S-drive or whatever to prevent skipping but I never had skips on the CDX-MP40 I used to have installed. Think it might be a sticking laser. Will see if playing CDs for a bit and not MP3 discs frees it off. Unless anyone else knows owt?

    changing gear knob

If you dont want to cut then use a pair of mole grips or similar, work it left and right till its loose and itll pull off. NB youll have loads of white powder coming out of it as you loosen it off so Id put a bit of sheet/rag over the console so you dont have to vac it up.

Seat covers - can they be fit

Okay I want to fit some seat covers to the Clio but it has side airbags. Mate of mine says that you can fit the covers if they are tight because the airbag will just tear through. My understanding was always that you couldnt fit seat covers to cars with side airbags. Anyone know for sure? Also...

You got decent speakers in it? Just wonder if you blew the speakers. Best bet though is to run a new wire from the hu to the door speaker and see if it works. If it does start looking at the multiplug etc.

    No light in glove box

Run a wire to the light switch so the glove box light comes on when the lights are on. You wont see owt unless the glovebox is open and then you have no spurious switches.

Wires get hot from current not voltage bud. If the meter is set to measure current (amps) its has virtually no resistance where for measuring voltage the resitance is high. If you connected the meter to the yellow and to earth and set it to amps with no load on it you effectively shorted the...
