JJ - I have exactly that - Pipercross panel filter and a Magnex. Dunno whether its made much difference, but my best time at York was ok compared with the other Mk2 172s (cue Matt who was faster!).
Planning on doing a Viper and de-cat pipe in the new year, then a trip to PE to get the same...
Strange how the 2.0 litre 16v engines are getting less powerful. The first was the 150bhp Williams engine, next there was 140bhp IDE engine (as in the current cars), now we get 136bhp. Is this progress??
Mine (UK supplied) has a bit of paper (computer printout) glued inside the front cover. It states the chassis number, radio code, build date etc. Thats the only thing that specifically relates to my car. Its a generic Renault book - covers all models.
You should try a few track days m8 - Im always amazed that the whole car doesnt just fall to bits as soon as I get back to the pits! Mis-treating my car makes me a lot more forgiving of the odd rattle here and there. Hope you get a result and end-up enjoying your car though.
It would be interesting to see how all this translates to speed on the track. A high-speed course like Donington would be ideal... you listening John???;)

There was a MY02 Scooby at the Cliosport track day at Bedford recently. It wasnt difficult to stay with it. It was obviously one of the bug-eyed ones, but I must admit I thought it looked a treat.

I wouldnt like this purely on grounds of speed. Plus the forum looks a lot more suspicious at work if there are loads of car pics down the left-hand side of the screen!

This has been done back in the distant past.

GR - your Renault dealer should have a technote on this. Make sure they do the drivers side as well or youll be back at the garage before long. It is important to get this fixed as your entire airbag system is disarmed while the airbag light is on.
