funk that!
They can keep that one then lol.
Only recently had a cambelt on it too.... some 'specialist' it got taken to then.
FTR its the inferno orange one at AutoHause in Welwyn Herts. Needs new discs all round, pads are 'ok', pax side wheel are kerbed and the front drivers side needs paint...
expensive in terms of taking it somewhere.... or expensive in parts and a 5min fit...
I'm far from scared of spanners but really dont have much in the way of time.
Went to look at a 182 cup at a trader today.... aside from needing 3 out of 4 wheel refurbing and the remains of the ansty ice removed, it was great.
Only thing that REALLY bothered me was the oil over the camshaft cover... it was over the plugs and cover from what I could tell. Whats this...
just pray you never need to claim lol. Lots of reports of late where they dont put you on the database for months, dont supply certificates, dont really do much in the event of a smash etc.
You get what you payfor.
I'm with Sky (I believe they are advertisers here) and they sorted an ace deal...
hmmmmm I drove a cup the other week. While the seats looked pants, they didnt feel much different.
I like seeing in the dark. Damn.
Oh well, whatever comes up first with the offers I'm willing to make wins :)
Good ole rexyweexy :)
Are the normal clio lights hugely different to the xenons? I do a LOT of country lane miles and having had candles in a box as lights from the homo plastic skip, I want as good as possible.
Are the std normal lights projector lenses etc so the can take a pikey ebay HID.
lol love you too hunny :p
How is it un-ejumakated to look at two cars and even thought they might be made of the same parts, consider them to look different... Its nothing to do with knowing every nut and bolt of a car. I'm sure you will cope after biting hard.
There are a few kicking about for sale... and not moving at all, which is handy ;) and a few more cup infernos..... but I would rather get a black FF +cups from the real thinking about it side of life.
I drove a 172, it was a giggle, but I WANT a 182 due to nicer colours on offer, wheels look...
:p from the front they look vastly different to me... meh like I care what you think to that lol.
I shall resist the cups then.... just there seems to be more orange cups about than non cups (yes I know of a couple of orange FF's here).
Still, tis the ideal season to be buying cars :) pre xmas...
For some reason, to my engineer eyes the PH2 172 looks a lot 'older' than the 182. Meh My eyes, my 'problem' lol
PH1 is velly old looking, but im sure its wonderful on track if I wanted such a device for pure track only fun
its a 182 of somesort or nothing as far as I care.
If I wanted a cheap (and nasty, imho the 172 looks dated BADLY compared to the 182) track **** then a 172 cup would be top of the list, but I want a nice comfy b-road basher that can also do the motorway etc.
I've got my heart set on a 182 FF (both packs ideally), but keep seeing the odd cup in spangly condition come up....
Given I'm coming from a vx220 ANYTHING is luxury lol, and a dim torch would be better than even an HID kitted VX lol.
So would I be left longing for a FF non cup if I were...
I ran them on my vx220, they were AWESOME when new, but once the fronts had about 9 months on them and had gotten cold they never came back to life, so were a little scary in the wet (not deadly, just had to drive with way more care).
I then put them on the front of my MK4 astra and once they...
Will ET37 7J*15 wheels fit with no issues on a 182?
The bore and pcd is fine.
I want some winter tyres (or summer tyres on the 15's and winter rubber the clio wheels) and the wheels in this size have come up at a great price.
I've only driven a couple of 172's and 182's and I cant say the low down driveability needs fettling with imho.... OK when on full throttle the 'curve' feels a little wavey in the delivery but nothing that NEEDS attention (again imho).
Its not perfect, nothing ever it, but its not in dire need...
Partly prefer the 'look' of the hard lines, partly for packaging purposes (less rubbing from hard lines... braided hoses are like files), partly for weight (I cant imagine braided being that much, if at all lighter than hard). etc.
Plus you will ensure good pedal feel. Yes braided is amazing...
I know it dosent work that way ;) but for the most part if the poxy MOT is happy then you can get away with all kinds of utter wrong.
A set of 1166's in one day..... fecking hell the clios pad size is somewhat small for the use, although 66's are softer than 55's but higher heat capacity etc...
Passes MOT's, therefore road legal.
Never have been a fan of DS pads, plus I like be difficult and go away from what everyone else does (you really dont want to know my feelings about 'tuners' lol)
I've ALWAYS had bad experiences of fitting OEM pads on the rear and different (uprated) pads up...
Has anyone run Mintex 1144 or 1155 pads (both front AND rear)?
My experience in the vx220 world is that Pikey plain (still vented) discs and good pads are the way forwards.... 1144's were great but too soft and wore too fast for my liking. I then tried Performance Friction Braking 97 spec...
