its amazing what a set of bumpers do to a car, that 172 looks underwheeled and yet only the bumpers differ from a phase 1! Curse the 16s for not being widely available ;)

what does it look like? underwheeled? I'm curious!

I'd paint the centre caps to match the wheels - I think thats what I don't like - but thats all really! Next mod has to be removing the sunroof ;)

Aye Oz F1's Genuine renault ones are slightly different to Oz aftermarket ones though.

I know there would be a lot of 'are you mad' posts from trophy owners - I'm the same when someone says you can lower a 1.2 mk1 and it handles better than a williams :rolleyes: Properly set up coilovers on a normal 172/182 must be bloody good though.

Loving the mk2 front bumper! great to see a different mod. Loving the lack of rust too - some mods are very questionable though ;)

Will still look like a 4x4 down 30mm and 16" wheels... Also if you put 16" on a 1.2 you'll kill and performance the little 1.2 has. 15" look spot on a mk1 and I'd be looking at more like 60mm on the front and torsion bar slightly higher on the back to match.

I just ebayed em Lee, I bought all 4, can't remember the name of the guy now.. none of them are offset though Anyway should you really be buying bulbs with the way things are at work! ;0

Aye heard good things about them - would be on the list! I honestly also prefer the look (I'll get shot for this!) of a standard ph2 over a trophy - I like how discreet it is in standard trim - bit of a wolf if you know what I mean. I can park this a lot easier than I could the willy anyway!

Nooooooo! b*****d about the bonnet - not much you can do apart from paint it or live with the scratches :(

How did they compare? was one significantly better than the other? Can't help like the trophy, it reminds me a little of a williams'esque type of car, last of the bunch and value wise (for the time being) the one to have for future value... I also can't help think though that its not...

well its at my local garage where Matt Black built the Clio TT so they know there way round one of these I'd wager! Infact I'll get Jordy on the vag conversion straight away ;)

Wouldn't really like to go down the new engine route - especially as this ones only done 34k, hopefully its not too severe.. Might be a decent time to pop some cams in though? ;)

Yup they were done, nice and fresh, I didn't know where I stood with the reciept as it was not in my ownership when it was done, I'll have a go and ring them, but would you trust them to have another crack after f**king the first effort up? it would also cost me a good few quid getting the car...

Un chuffin believable! Car died on motorway on the way home tonight, locked in place like a good un. less than 1000 miles ago the lady owner I bought it off had spent over a grand as the aux belt had failed and took out the cambelt - new valves lapped in etc etc... New genuine renault...
