Your should not damage your paint - over time however you will reduce the thickness of the clearcoat. Depends on lots of variables, what pads and compounds you use and how far you go with to removing every mark you see.
If it single stage paint and not laquered hence the bad fade, a chemical paint cleaner such as Klasse All in One or Carlack 68 by hand should clean it up quite nicely by hand.

Chances are the Onyx won't give you Collinite durability so ideally you need to get the durable wax to be a good base and use the Onyx for looks.
Don't get me wrong it looks superb, better than the BOS which I love, the non ease of use has tainted it a bit, especially as the Zymol Destiny is...
Would add to the looks if used over the Collinite.
There should be a couple here in Gazeratti's thread http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=258782 Will try and grab some pics in the morning.
A slight improvement over BOS when I did a 50/50 on a panel looks wise, but at the expense...
However delicate you are with the sanding you will still be left with some very flat paintwork. PC to correct it makes sense.
Good choice on the Onyx
It is wearing two coats of Mystery and will be getting another tomorrow ready to Eurofest and RWS at weekend. Just not got round to any pics...
It is best you are prepared. Saves you being shocked as soon as you wipe the water off and see the sanded area dry.
Why spend time and effort sorting the sanding marks by hand when you have the PC to help you out ?
The guy that I know who restores Classic Jags uses soap as in the bar type you wash you hands with, I soak the paper in water with car shampoo - normally Megs Shampoo Plus.
The longer you leave it on the easier it seems to wipe off (providing it doe not bake on in the sun). I leave it at least 45 mins - but ideally an hour.
The key is thin, when you apply it as thin as you can get it that is still to thick!
I use a photoshop action to put a border and resize all my images.
The Border /watermark file is a photoshop file created at the size I want the images to be at with a transparent background.
Record an action which resizes images to the same size as the border file and then places it in...
No Probs - it is a very versatile product, will be spraying some on the 306 daily drives bodywork tomorrow !!!! - it has not been cleaned in months and I have finally decided it needs doing now as I have some time off work.
I have tried both the above, The Clearkote combo does look good - people have said to me that it produced the best look my car ever had. Falls down in that it can't maintain that look come the first wash and needs reapplying.
My car was wearing the Clearkote Glaze Combo, Vannilla Moose, Red...
Main advantage is both are quicker than a coat of EGP and in the case of the Autobahn it will add to the gloss/finish of the wheels in the same way as topping EGP with a wax like you would on the body work. Though on silver wheels I am not sure as to how noticeable this will be.
I have two...
As said - No neither will stop the dust sticking I have the Autobahn on the outers and Poorboys on the inners over EGP and the Brake dust will still stick. Though most rinses off just with a hose.
Yeah works out at the same price, though I can justify 20 quid for Autobahn, 80 quid for something just for wheels then starts to sound expensive !
If I come across something really baked on that clay, Megs APC or AG Engine and Machine Cleaner won't touch I have to use the AG Wheel Cleaner...
It is tiny, it is said to be the same stuff as the Shield, but 80 quid seems alot for a pot of wax just for wheels. You need very little though as you say. I am still using the Poorboys in the inside of the wheels as I can see I would easily get through a pot of Autobahn quickly other wise !
Thats the one, hard to tell as it has an EGP base, I have been applying it once a month and water is still beading and brake dust washes off with just with the hose alone.
