You don't need to subscribe to anything for the updates, the discs are your licences. I'd suggest you start with a clean wiped console as you got it used, just reset it to factory, sign in with your PSN account (which is free to create). Put a disc in and it'll tell you to download etc.

I think the main issue with the game is that there's nothing to do once you've completed it, and it doesn't take that long to complete it. It's a nice impressive open world, but nothing to do now.

Have you done the bit where he makes you sit down and chat to him, after going to clouds I think it is. Thats when it starts, not just after you meet him. It just goes fuzzy every few seconds, and the border of the map top right is always fuzzy.
