    Fitting aftermarket steering wheel

Yeh, just solder onto the wire. Then tape up to stop it shorting, or for a neater finish put some heat shrink on before soldering.

    Cruise not working

I'd say a wiring fault between the airbag ring and the buttons somewhere. Or maybe a faulty brake or clutch switch, although I'm not sure if it would light up the dash if this was the case, someone else would have to confirm.

    Jenic's Inferno 182 - Yes, another one!

Cheers, got a link to Pier's? Edit: Never mind, just realised which one he has, that's the car that's made me want them :o Haha, no thanks :rasp:

    Jenic's Inferno 182 - Yes, another one!

I'm not fussed mate, the car is so good everywhere else I don't mind a couple of little cheap fix's. The rev counter only does it when the lights have been on a good while (a couple of hours) so you probably wouldn't have ever noticed, it probably just needs resoldering. I only spent £2 on the...

    Jenic's Inferno 182 - Yes, another one!

It wasn't a shed, just needed a bit of money spending on it and I preferred this. Infact, except a couple of scuffs on the bumpers the bodywork was in pretty good shape.

    Jenic's Inferno 182 - Yes, another one!

You sort of answered your own question there, it's in superb condition and the cup wasn't. Nope, don't think I've ever said that. Used to love eikoorb's when he had it and we used to go out taking pictures :o

    Jenic's Inferno 182 - Yes, another one!

Haha, I don't think I'll ever not have a little Mk2 clio of some sort tbh. Love them, so much fun that a lot of other more expensive cars just cannot replicate even if they are technically superior. Spec wise yes, but not colour wise. No more worrying about waking up to an ever more pink car...

    Fair play. Definitely go bodies!

    Scott™ Arctic 182

Plans sound good, any reason for the Ktec coilovers? I'd be tempted by the bilsteins instead now they are available. I'd also do the brakes sooner than last, but that's just me.

    Jenic's Inferno 182 - Yes, another one!

Yeh, I always said I'd never get a 182 cup as they are the runt of the range. But with xenons and recaros the only feature I will miss is auto lights but that's no big deal.

    My Racing Blue 182 Project.

    Love that. Wheels look superb!

    Jenic's Inferno 182 - Yes, another one!

It won't. Whenever I've had a good clio I've kept it, the RB was the longest I have ever owned a car at nearly 2 years and the trophy is in 2nd place at 10 months. I only sold the trophy as it was worth so much.

    Jenic's Inferno 182 - Yes, another one!

Originally saw this car a while ago in a thread about brake ducts and really liked it but had no idea who's it was. When Daniel advertised it a couple of weeks ago I messaged him straight away, did a p/x deal with my cup and I picked it up Thursday just gone. Only photo I have is from the...

    Glass sealants, worth it?

So do I need G1, G2 and G4 ideally? Can't seem to find G2 on the website. Edit: Just realised G2 comes with G1 so this should suffice? - http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/kits/g1-g4-clearvision-screen-kit/

    Glass sealants, worth it?

Would appreciate that mate, I will no doubt be over that way sometime in the next month. How much is required for a single application?

I like those sidelights :o Which ones are they? Wheels look crap though lol

Anyone else just can't get on with Apple Macs?

I love my mac, and find windows computers so very difficult to use. When I have to use a 7 computer at uni I can never work out how to use the thing, it's slow and generally s**t, I try and stick to Linux when I can. But saying that, I am a massive pages hater, I like most stuff apple do, but...

    Fitting aftermarket steering wheel

Is it ribbon? I thought it was 2 wires in rubber 'casing'. In which case, strip back and solder the resistor on. Bit of heat shrink to stop it shorting. Edit, found a clear picture, looks like 2 wires to me:

lol Some, although not many, walk away pretty happy!

    Fitting aftermarket steering wheel

Well you could still fit resistors to the airbag wires, but you would need a new slip ring if you ever wanted to go back to standard. Unless you soldered the connectors back on.

    Worn OMP steering wheel

Get it retrimmed in leather imo. Perforated sides, plain top and bottom.
  25. jenic

    Fitting aftermarket steering wheel

Cruise goes through first, then the airbag wires (no chopping needed, but you will have to clip in the retaining part), then the horn. Some people seem to have real trouble with the OMP boss, but I've had 2 now and never had a problem. It's tight but they fit.

    Glass sealants, worth it?

Bit of a bump... Is there anywhere offering a drive in drive out service for G1 application?

    Battery Issues...

Basically measure current, voltage and resistance. They have different settings depending on what you are measuring and the range. You should probably get someone to show you how to use it if you are not sure.
  28. jenic

    Battery Issues...

Have you got a multimeter? IF not find someone with one, or buy one as they are dead handy!
  29. jenic

    Battery Issues...

Either the battery is past it's best, the alternator is faulty or something is drawing power. First check, with the car running, what is the voltage across the battery?

    My Golf GTI

I'm confused as to how you got stuck, why didn't you stay on the gritted bit? My little clio was fine yesterday btw :p
