They only lock if bought from CPW or similar. They are sold as sim free Mine is from apple, both my O2 and three sims work in it. Apple sell it as unlocked, there's a difference ;)

Fill up until the first click of the pump. Reset trip Drive around Fill back up until the first click. Put the second fill up amount and number of miles on the trip into an mpg calculator.

Held the home and lock buttons in until it has powered off and back on again? Without sliding the power off thingy.
