Four ashes are good, but i've had 2 cars from them that have had "just an aux belt" low and behold they've come to me with noisy aux idlers a few thousand miles after having the cambelt done because the aux KIT wasn't fitted
yeah just wondering what people have done who have bought off the shelf pre mapped kits, it would run like a bag of s**t if they were out, so they must be doing something?
you basically have to adjust the throttle butterflies so they're all in the same position (can't be done by eye)
you use an air flow meter (synchrometer) on each trumpet, and set them all to flow the same

cambelt end is no 4, 3, 2, 1 gearbox end
172/182 engine - doesn't matter
there's a loom earth that bolts to the top of the gearbox (above the driveshaft)
there's a second loom earth that bolts to the main battery earth cable (well goes through the second bolt anyway)
i've been doing it for years, no bother so far, luckily for me its a 4hr job to change one on my car, box normally comes out every 12-18months for an overhaul, i always change the clutch when the box is out, dumb not too
(i refuse to spend £400 on a helix!)
aye fair point, never had a problem with the clutch, but then again heal and toeing helps massivley IMO
put a r****d standard driver (such as warren's brother!) behind the wheel and the clutch won't last the day!
especially those who have installed DIY
have you ever balanced up your bodies, or at least checked them?
maybe a daft question, but just a thought that popped into my head
being discreet, its my new thing for this year, your car has BTM stickers, but just a bit like meeting a bird on a night out, you wonder what undercrackers she has on, you might find out, you might not, same thing with where your stickers are
;)
Disclaimer - BTM didn't touch the setup on Naith's car, they we're bolted on by Rich and left at that, with Naith saying "it'll be reet"
i would've liked to have corner weighted it and set it up, but it was 11pm by the time we were finished
just wanted to clear that up!
