    Valver track isn't any wider than an RT. Easy to put a 16v in though - just need engine/loom/ECU/gearbox/upper engine mount/driveshafts/radiator and fan/throttle cable/fuel pump - plug and play beyond that. Mine 1.2 is going 2ltr 16v very soon...

    Drop it 55mm. 16v springs fit fine and do the job. To get -55mm buy some -55RSI springs or fit some -35mm 16v springs...it basically achieves the same but is a wee bit stiffer.

    Indeed you can't...but you can trust the opinions of the members on here who've driven both on the same roads and can (honestly and fairly) critique each cars strength and weaknesses. Real life speed is always going to be down to the conditions as i pointed our earlier (^^)...whats fast on...

The 1.2 IS good for 80bhp IO with cam and other work...someone on here has had 96 from the SPI version so going by...

    Thats rather a lot IMO (unless that includes removal/refit of engine which i'm not entirely sure you need to do on the RSI) - just get a second hand box instead of fixing it...cost about 100.
