This is Cliosport.net, where people will ignore perfectly logical and sound advice and
instead would prefer to bodge up by jamming in 10p resistors into electrical connectors.
Leave the dash and the door cards in. They weigh f**k all and removing them makes living with the car a pain in the ass.
Seats weigh a ton so bin them.
Carpets, sound deadening and the tar on the bodywork all weighs a load so bin all that too.
Remove both front airbags and fit a lighter...
Your stance needs some work mate.
Front needs about 10 degrees of Neg camber from where it currently sits and the rear wheels need to be spaced out more.
Welcome to the forum though, I look forward to the progress pics.
There was a dog c**k red one at a car show on Sunday, parked next to a dark metallic blue one.
The blue one looked like a 2.0tdi in comparison. The bright red worked so well with the black grilles etc and looked f**king badass. And I hate Audi's!
I didn't mate. I'm useless at remembering stuff so I'd only end up doing half a job for a write up.
I'll be getting out very soon to clean it etc so I'll take loads of pics then.
Look up circuit motors and/or Sabre Tuning.
They build big power FRS's but one of them runs a 172 as his daily and they are VERY knowledgeable people.
I recently had my car mapped there as the previous owner seemingly had it mapped by drunken one hoofed donkey.
Not sure how 'south' you are...
I echo this.
It's only 20 minutes away from me, the weather will be amazing and its famed with cars....
but I have work coming out of my ass so I'd be daft to turn it away.
Have a great time all.
Get a felt pen and put a spot the size of a 5p on the edge of the back of the pad.
The machine should be oscillating fast enough that you can barely see it. If you can start to see the spot, you're pushing too hard.
It's a great way to monitor pressure.
You say about giving it stick, are you pushing too hard?
If you push too hard the machine can't oscillate properly and you just end up pushing Polish around the car.
Have you drawn a spot on the back of the pad for reference?
(Apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs!)
And the bonnet vents leaking water on to the plugs, and the alternators frying, and the sunroof's leaking....
they were a properly shoddy car.
But f**k me were/are they cool!!
I'd have another tomorrow!
I had a white ph2 chamade, a blue 3 door ph2, and when I met my Mrs she had a blue Ph1 5 door.
I think we covered all R19 bases??
They all broke down though. Lots.
Track rod ends
Ball joints
Bottom arms (wish bones)
Steering rack....
It could be anything. I'd personally take it to another garage. One that can actually be bothered to diagnose a fault properly.
If you do a google search there are dimensions online, then just pass them to your local sticker maker.
They are in here too but it would have been about 12 years ago so it's a big search to do.
