I have one on a Mk1 1.4. They are loud when you boot it and they pop nicely when coming off the throttle:D Also they have a nice hum when idling. They are quite loud when your cruising at 60-70 mph on a motorway (it tickles your ear a bit) but i dont mind really.

Feckin lowlifes:@ Vandals are worse than thieves in a weird way because there s just no reason for it (assuming it was a random act). Sorry to hear that mate.

Id recommend one, only if you like a loud zorst though.
