Manual Steering Conversion on Valver Part Codes

Hmmm...done a search and he doesn't appear to be on the new BB! I have an ebay link for the 2ltr valver he was selling a while back so you might be able to get him via the contact seller option? It's...

Aye, if you're soft it is - get some weights and build yourself up like a man!!! Nah, seriously thought it's not that bad without...TBH i didn't find it any worse than the old RT i had with alloys on :-s

Manual Steering Conversion on Valver Part Codes

Winston on here would be a good bet as he was one of the first to fit bondys kit on here. Hes in the n/w of england...don't know if thats close to you?

    1.2 16v engine transplant

Its all very well coming the high and mighty about being legal etc but at the end of the day if they're identical then fair play IMO. No insurance company on the planet is going to rip apart a standard looking engine to measure piston bores etc simply on the possibility that "it might be a...

mk1 energy engine k&n look here...

The airbox will be empty so it'll just be that bit open cone...will be ok and better than a normal IK as it'll have cooler air. RE the hot air valver...IIRC that would just opens on pressure from the feed pipe...since theres no pipe connected it'll always be shut?

    1.2 16v engine transplant

Aye, insurance is a pain in the arse right enough. Cams/headwork tho mate - no insurance company is gonna spot them...

    1.2 16v engine transplant

Try cams and headwork until you can afford a faster car or a better conversion....or sell it and buy something cheap, old and fast. Cams/headwork won't give massive gains but will be noticeable and might keep you happy for a while longer. 80bhp (or whatever these new clios are) as standard is...

    RSi engine into a 1.4RT

Yes, you could do it all yourself - headwork wise, as edde says, you could get someone to tell you what to grind away and beyond thats its just assembly. Prices...well...assuming you want to go the RT route you could get; - spare 1.4 engine is £40 approx, - cam is about £250 approx from...

    K-tec Big Disk conversion

I've never had 4pots but the k-tec big brake kit was a noticable improvment over standard and for not that much more than what you'd pay for standard...it also looks shithot behind larger wheels (16s/17s). K-tec had them fitted to their 300bhp R5 demo car so they're up to the job...

    K-tec Big Disk conversion

The discs are thicker than std in the kit. When i had it fitted to my megane 1 (same brakes as 16v) i had to grind the caliper carrier back to get a sensible amount of disc clearance so i guess thats why they've started including them now...they didn't used too tho...

    17''s on Mk1 Ph3?

No, they'll be refurbed RSI wheels on 185/55/14 tyres (same circ and 195/45/15) - nice and light at 6.8kilos each. Will need lowered a fair bit - going down about 60mm using 16v bits :-)

    17''s on Mk1 Ph3?

17s look shite on any clio, never mind a non-16v mk1...they'll also destroy handling and performance. Unless you want to look like a kiddie who doesn't know any better avoid them! 16s look ok but 15s better still. 14's (which i'm going for next week) would be the best for that car IMO. In...

    RSi engine into a 1.4RT

Yeah, the bonnet can be bodged to fit for a valver engine but regardless it's still one more thing that needs doing at end of the day (amongst other things)....a pain in the ass and not worth the effort IMO...just buy a valver! The only problem with the RSI route is they're quite hard to come...

Manual Steering Conversion on Valver Part Codes

About 90quid for a new manual rack from andyspares, column is about 100 or so new from just about everyone. Why buy new though? The manual stuff doesn't suffer the same wear as the PAS stuff... Quite involved to fit it...subframe needs to be dropped to get rack on/off, dash needs to come to...

    Clio 1.2 question.

Depends, if his is an 'Energy' SPI engine (stamped on the rocker cover) then it should do, yes. If its a 'DIET' MPI engine then no. I have been told that there was a DIET engined clio equipped with a rev counter but have yet to see one and thats the only clocks your could use if you have.

Manual Steering Conversion on Valver Part Codes

Said it before, bondy does a kit for 50quid with the bracketry/belt and beyond that all you need is a manual column and rack from any less spec mk1 clio. Nobody else i've met really knows the brackets/belt he uses as he removes the part numbers prior to sending them out. However, i have...

    RSi engine into a 1.4RT

RSI lump will be easier as theres no pissing about with getting a 16v bonnet...more space to work with too. Just lob it in with rsi mounts...shafts should be the same but there may be a problem if the RSI lump has PAS. In this case you'll need a PAS rack, column and assosiated...

    beefing up a 1.4 RT

Mate, goto www.retro-renault.com or www.f7power.com and PM Chris H as he's your man for tuning info/work on mk1 1.4 RT...better than anyone else you'll find. He's done a few - meddy-clio (sp?) on here is up about 12bhp over std and i know hes done another that was apparently giving a valver a...

    1.8 16v - 2.0 16v Difference??

Yes it was done at torsion tuning and AFAIK glenn was a good member of CS so not likely to rip you off or have been ripped off. Sounds to me like your mate has a fairly quick valver and is a good at handling it wheras you have a 2ltr thats weighed down with 3 ton of leather! Basically, you...

Timing Belt on Clio RL Prima (94-M)

IMO you'll be cheaper to just get a secondhand engine rather than dismantling the current one to see what might or might not be wrongs. 94M? Thats an energy engine IIRC - get them for about 50quid thesedays.

    Valver mods

Big valved flowed head and cams (as you can use these if you want to 2ltr it). Probably need a chip to run that...either hillpower or you can pick them up cheap enough on ebay (sub-£100). Would also recommend removing PAS.
