Its a AAS custom system, i am nearly certain its a double small box system (because iirc, mine is the only single box 182 they have done so far)
the exhaust was done then a Decat made up for a later.
If you are coming to the Hickley meet on thyrsday come say hi and have a look under my car.
AAS exhausts in Newcastle. bloodly brilliant systems, i have a cat back system on my 182 the build quailty is secoond to none, mine is even a single box system, looks like the Cooper S style under the car.
Barron has a AAS on his 172.
Hutchie has a AAS on his 1.2 with Decat its immense.
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special
Will try to explain.
Barron bought a car with a cup engine in it. We removed this engine and put it in to his 172(which had a blown engine) this was all set up with a new alternator so the aircon worked in his 172. This left us with a cup alternator and all...
i bought my 182 at 20 waited till i had 3 years NCB, buy having 3 years instead of 2 i saved 400quid, then add older female drivers to your policy. i have my mum and gran on mine. saved me 300Quid.
We have a polycarb rear screen planned, then 3mm rear quaters made from some scratch resistant stuff, then polycarb front ones that are being custom done with rally hatches, thats the plan any how. No idea how it will turn out but should be late next week by the time we find out.
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special
UPDATE
Interior of the car has been painted. Forgot to mention, that Every un-needed bit of metal inside has also been cut out :D
Not worth talking about, because there is nothing in it, i have 182, my brother has a 172 nothing at all woth talking about.
But on the other hand our PH-1 > both :D PH-1 all the way.
Im a canon guy, so not sure on the nikon focusing but i guess its simlar.
When looking throught the view finder you will have a set of donts, one of these will light up red, that is you focal point. so use this to focus on the subject, having the camera in oneshot mode and auto focus on lense...
Just a standard 172 is what you want i think, it has the leather interior. Xenons , just spend time to find a decent one.
or Go out to a renault deal and look at them all, instead of listening to peoples own opinions, find out for yourself.
No ours is on 90K and take the abuse of track perfectly fine, just fine one with full service history. I bet if you got a cheap 182, you would have more trouble with it.
I have a 182 and too be honest there is no differance between my brothers 172.
spend 4.5K on a decent 172 tbh.
Or do the smart thing and buy a PH-1 they look better, have fewer toy, but cable throttle makes them 10X better!
Dont forget all 04 182's will need there Cam belt service this year, so if you decide on one take this in to account on your budget.! like a 500quid job.
Ours felt fine at croft, Wet driving is all about finding grip where there is no on a track, we found driving of line in the rain they were suitable for speeds we are doing.
