Rear wheel bearing is fucked. These are in the discs rather than the hub on 172's.

Nope - it'll have a fairly noticeable rattle once the car is up to temperature. This should essentially be changed every 5years/72k REGARDLESS of anything. If the book is fully stamped by garages - phone them and ask for any paper work to be re-printed and sent out!
