Yeah, quite common from what ive heard. Theres apparently a rite way and a wrong way to route them...not that thats much consolation when your stuck in the middle of no-where! lol
Heh, soz!
Fair point tho, the newer one does look better but looking at the old you know theres something special/different about it.... Whats the phrase? "Beautys in the eye of the beholder"?
Well thats personal opinion but honestly mate, ive got videos of both and theres something very special about being in-car of a 935....more than the GT1 anyway. Honestly, its shoots flames 3/4 feet out the back, has anything between 600-800bhp adjsutable at will (depending on year)....bit brutal...
New vs old eh? Ok sportscars....twenty years difference....
Porsche 935/78 (1978):
3.2 litre engine, 750bhp, 615nm torque and a shed load of character! Quote Derek Bell.."unbelievable in it power....what with the power and the brakes youve got an awesome car"
Porsche GT1 (1997):
3.1...
"Not as good as the 182"
so why does just about everyone quote the williams as one of the best handling hatches of all time but not the 172/182? Indeed far more people have been seen to mod the handling of a 172 than compared to a williams. Even in this and the other thread there have been...
Was gonna reply to this last night but a few bottles of wine got the better of my ability to type! Anyway, here goes;
Ok, i could reasonably afford any car out there atm (be it skyline, bmw, clio v6 etc) but, for certain reasons, i have chosen my 16v. For me it sums up a fantastic car thats...
I think this should be banned TBH - after 10 pages on the last topic of people missing the point its unlikely to get resolved now....
Lets face it some people like having a decent quick and safe brand new car thats suppossed to be top of the pile while some of us like paying less than half of...
As said the 106 is fairly similar to the VTS so not much point to going that route unless you REALLY want one. To my knowledge, the valver is cheaper insurance than the GTI and just as quick. Obviously they are upwards of 7 years old now but are no more expensive than any other small performance...
Well, shes finding that its a bit "twitchy" at high speed and after being in my 16v she would like similar handling so i think she crumble soon enough and get it done! :) The only concern was that it might invalidate her warranty but if thats not going to happen then game on i think...
As for...
Right, almost got my sister persuaded to lower her 172 but shes bleating that itll affect warranty so shes still a little unsure! Could someone tell me what affect fitting aftermarket springs would have on car warranty (if any)? Otherwise shes gonna leave it..... :cry:
Also id appeciate...
Right, having a valver with no SH im curious to know where it originally came from so can anyone tell me wherabouts the following plate would have originated from? Im fairly certain its not from scotland....
K*** XPD
I think its probably a mixture of the 182 not being run in and because you stepped out of a valver! My sisters 172 doesnt feel as fast as my valver because its a good bit more smooth, quiet and you sit a good bit higher. Obviously her 172 is just as quick but its just the feeling you tend to get...
Yeah, 449 can look purplish depending on how you look at it but monaco doesnt, its far lighter once applied - using the both will just look REALLY bad m8! Halfords will mix a tin of 449 for you for only a tenner........
Yep, looks like 449 mate....and tidy with it! :D Itll be stamped on the oval plate under the bonnet though if you wanna double check. Dunno if halfords do an "off the shelf" touch up kit as i had to get them to mix me a tin of 449 yesterday.....could be wrong though??
Hmmm...well the guy i bought that unit off says it came out of a clio (a Champs Elysee too) and it is renault branded as well as pioneer so must have been an option surely....but maybe just on the "last of the line" phase 2/3s.
northy - nah, my headunit is different from that (yous looks more...
Right managed to get a hold of a "period" cd HU from a 95ish clio and was wondering if anyone knew if this model was ever fitted as std or option to a 16v/williams. The model number is DEH2006, made by Pioneer and branded Renault;

Without a doubt, a moded 16v is better!
IMO your car looks spot on but i would be tempted to put a proper valver interior back in as im not a fan of dressing a 1.8 up like a williams unless its got the power to back it up (i.e 2ltrs etc). Aside from that, raise the back and keep it as is m8! :D
Well, ive had my valver for about a year and a half now and wouldnt swap it for anything - even after considering the amount of debt its put me in! Having had the willy track fitted i now know what people mean about the handling of the williams...it really is that more planted and stable. Im not...
