If you want (and can) spend the money - the PC is the way to go. Consoles look good. But watch a PC that costs five times as much and your jaw will drop ;). The endless scope of PCs is what keeps me interested. From editing sound files, to burning CD/DVDs, playing games, doing a 'bit' of work...

I've not changed the gearbox oil myself on mine, but it has been done three times in its 62k life. I think it's worth changing more regularly than is recommended - it certainly can't do any harm. :) D.
