I had a worn gearbox mount once and it would act the same, no knocking as turning left! Guess it might be something to do with weight distribution as you're turning left, however, I could be wrong.

Name and shame them mate. And don't let one bad experience put you off from buying and/or selling on here. There are a lot of genuine people on here, but unfortunately you have to deal with the prícks now and again. If it isn't too far, drive there yourself and drop them off.
