    coolant leak

If the clip is wonky and causing the issue, move the clip back down the pipe, position the pipe properly, then put the clip back on. At most you'll lose half a pint and that's if you're a r****d. Top it back up with water. Why would you have to drain all the coolant?

Clio DCI 65s and towing trailers?

You'd rather save under £2 a week over towing safely and legally?? Strange priorities! lol Besides, a Renault diesel will eventually break, making your £100 tax saving null and void. Regards to your other comment about VAG's having high running costs, that is utter nonsense. Whoever told you...

Clio DCI 65s and towing trailers?

I don't do a great deal of towing, but I wouldn't even entertain one. My Astra Van (remapped too!) used to barely manage with a tiny trailer and a stripped out clio. You'd be much better off with a mondeo/passat/vectra type car imo.

Clio DCI 65s and towing trailers?

A 1.5 diesel megane or clio to tow a car on a trailer?! If you encounter any hills you'll roll back down them!

No. Well, not that you'd notice. Unless you mean a petrol station jetwash with their 'cleaning' chemicals in it? That will pretty much strip any polish! Lol

And it's an i. I want a carb one (or a carb escort) as my mate has a race kit for one he said he'd fit FOC. (Weber, big cam etc)

Hindsight's a wonderful thing dave! We've all done it I think. Don't know if I mentioned it before, but my Father in law scrapped a genuine Lotus Cortina for £30 back in the day because it needed too much work to get it going again. He nearly shat in his pants when I showed him rotten barn...

No. Sponges are the work of the devil.

Soft enough not to scratch the wheels, cheap enough to not worry about ruining them.

Menz 2500 is my go to product for that sort of thing. I've never used orange pads though and black pads will be way too soft. Try a yellow and a white pad and see what you get on with.

    super cheap!

Just found these on offer, they're 'ok' for washing the car, but for us detailing geeks, they're a very cheap and washable wheel cleaning mit! Just ordered myself 4 of them. :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371121281290

    In desperate need of help

What are you going on about? You asked for advice, I gave you advice, you ignored it. A generic code reader will not help you to pinpoint the faults your car is having. You are wasting your time and money. If you think my advice is unhelpful then I can only apologise, but it's fact.

    In desperate need of help

So you've asked for advice, i've given you advice, and you've chosen to ignore that advice and do what you were planning on doing in the first place. You'll fit in well round here. Blend right in in fact!

    In desperate need of help

Why did you buy a car with 2 weeks mot? Your first port of call is to get it plugged in to a proper diagnostic machine. Those crappy code readers are fine for resetting lights or pointing you in the general direction, but not really any good for pin pointing specific diagnostics.

How Much Is Breaking A Clio Likely To Raise?

If everything works on the car, nothing is damaged, you can get £2000 for it in bits. It's certainly not worth the grief imo. If you can get £1300 for it as a whole car or £2000 for breaking it, I know for a fact i'd be selling whole! Take out ebay fees, postage, people not turning up, your...

The Clio dci's have been around since 2001 and have remained at £30 for the last 13 years. That kind of pisses on your argument tbh.

    High Mileage

There are plenty on 160k plus. A few on over 200k. Providing they're looked after the F4R is up there with one of the most reliable engines out there IMO.
