This. Get a flat head screw driver in there, break the metal bracket thingy and that gives you room to get a spanner in there.

You need an odour bomb. Let it off in the centre rear footwell (facing up) and shut the doors and don't open them for 24 hours. These are the ones I use and they get rid of all nasty smells like dogs, smoke damp etc.
