For me just read 106 Gti as Saxo VTS, the drive on the road there are damn near enough the same.
Saxo VTR as 106 1.6 Rallye.
Just with different driver images for the later.
Sems to be Brun, though hard to really compare as the 80 sems to be more oily has more fillers so likes to fill stuff aswell.
SSR 1, seems more like VM in abiltys to me.
Both different in the own ways, the 1.9's over square engine made it less keen to rev, where as the revvy 1.6 always felt more buzy. I prefered the extra torque of the 1.9. You could drive it swiftly and make good progress but not have to work to hard like the 1.6 needed.
Point to point aint...
205 bites to hard when you do get it wrong reckon thats why it is low down, and was underpowered. But beat by a Bini, come on!!!!!!!!!!
309 GTi should be in that list too.
They rave about it now 2 or 3 years on - but yeah slated at the time. Not sure on there excuse is the press cars where not the same as the production models.
Hence the detail on the GSi for me today! Was going to go along with my friend but need a lye in - cant be doing another early start on a Sunday after last weekend and the fcs.
As for the rust you need to grind it back or cut it out so its all gone, rubbing down and treating it never works...
Cant recommend the Extreme Slick Synthetic - Polymer Detailer (Anti-Static) enough either, got the 182 to the FCS dust free it really works. Also is streak free to use on Black.
Poorboys SSR 2 and a polishing pad at least, more likely to need Poorboys SSR 2.5 and a light cut pad. The Meguairs Equivilents would be Megs 80 or Megs 83.
Another vote for the Chemical Guys shampoo my current choice as well.
The extra gloss protection plays two roles, gives decent durability and protection 60-90 days is possible as well as adding a nice deep wet look to the paint. Multiple layers 2-3 really work well.
Topped with natural carnuba...
I dont know the guys details Dave, will be getting them off Brazo in the next feww weeks as my new wheel is now here and I need to change it over and get it fixed, I would drop Brazo a PM mate.
