Lol, i'm going to let JMS go ahead and do that testing :rasp:
Second hand, well who knows? I got this fairly cheap but they rarely come up so hard to price. Presume the 197 will sell for slightley more as it doesn't seem to need modifying to fit. Maybe expect to pay around £200 for wheel and...
I have had apex springs on my old 1.2 clio, fk coilovers on my c2 and have ktr coilovers on my 182.
No comparison, springs were really crashy and didnt improve handling, just looks.
FK's gave a great drop and handled superbly but were very stiff.
KTR's handle and ride very well, and look...
Its a bit thick for that lol, uncles got proper metal working tools so he'll get it cut down for me.
No rush for it now though, just glad all the electrics appear to be working and that i know what the problem is.
When it is fitted and working correctly i'll get a little guide up showing what...
The reason it wont fit is what Jamie was getting at I think.
Both wheels can be seen below:
200
182
As you can see, where the 200 wheel attaches to the steering column it is significantly longer than the old wheel. This is what is catching on the inside of the column (I can see marks...
Seems strange though, how non cc wheels are identical.
Well i've just been out in it and the cruise works with the new wheel now, so all thats left is this return issue.
Its constantly rubbing on something but not sure what (have an idea though). Just leaving it 30 mins before i remove the new...
Going to have a go at cutting it at the weekend i think, to make it fit.
Only problem is i cant get the f**king thing off now. The airbag is fully unclipped at the bottom but wont pull out. Really pissed off.
But if you go in and buy a brand new wheel to replace yours then it will surely be this style, so it wouldn't fit either?
So is the answer to get an early 197 wheel, doubtful tbh
It my surname lol, there are only about 8 of us in the country. It used to be cool having a foreign surname until all the polish started moving over but thats for another thread ;)
Seems the big thing at the moment this!
Picked up a 200 wheel and just had a go at fitting it but have experienced the same problem as Jamie did. There is something more than just the plastics making the wheel stick in one position.
JMS have said they haven't modified their 197 wheel but...
Presume we will meet at colton? Or somewhere near there. Then its at least 1h30m to hawes so to miss traffic we need to meet pretty early, like before 9!
Windermere and Coniston and the roads up and around there. Set off at 10:30 and got home at 6ish, about 45 minutes spent having lunch up there the rest driving :)
Quick question (again :o).
Once the wheel is fitted it will pretty much block off the holes which you need access to to remove the airbag, how do you get around this? Or do you just struggle, badly.
